what exactly is this listing offering ? http://world.taobao.com/item/38819660497.htm?spm=a312a.7700714.0.0.igmtT3 i assume that the kits are beyond broken but would it be worth getting one ?
The Tabao kits are waste kits. They have smashed ports (at least most off them) and normally are crap. Some off them have corrosion from water and are just crappy. They are missing the special Faceplate as a retail one doesn't match the case off an XeDK. If you buy normal xdks most off them are rrod or simply heatguned to work. So a big gamble and importing costs a lot. So in my oppinion buy a good kit here on Assemblergames and be happy!
Those look completely busted, but these look alright. I'm not sure how good the prices are though. These look complete, possible even unused: http://world.taobao.com/item/13058884242.htm?spm=a312a.7700714.0.0.gu4vZ2#detail More here, one of them has a Taito sticker and shows a picture of it booting something Taito related, on it which is interesting: http://world.taobao.com/item/4692650011.htm?spm=a312a.7700714.0.0.gu4vZ2

I wouldn't get the smashed ones. I got one a while back to fix. Basically, it's a bare bones motherboard and a smashed case. AV port is smashed (would need to be replaced) and the Power port is usually smashed but can still work. Even if that's fixed, you still wouldn't know if it needs a reflow or reball if the GPU is bad. In the end, you'd spend probably more money and time than trying to get a working one of someone on here.
I got lucky with my XeDK through taobao. I got a replacement case years later and it took some work but mine runs perfectly now. It's all a matter of how bad it's off, how much time and money your willing to put into it and accept that it never will be cheap.
It's gambling buying an XDK on taobao. For normal XDKs you are better off just buying locally knowing the condition. The only time I can see the giving the gamble a chance is if it's a very rare piece of kit (like the XeDKs, XNAs), or if you really need parts.
Personally, I would only recommend buying stuff off Taobao if you can read enough Chinese (or know someone that does) to read the seller reviews.
http://world.taobao.com/item/522989193751.htm Well I guess seeing a model E XDK is neat in its own right... Haven't a clue what price they're asking for but regardless it's a nice thing to see...
I hope you supply images in the end of quality, packaging, and whatever the hell else it came with. What specific one did you grab because there were a few options. I'm hoping you got the absolute smallest set they offer as I feel (as a few others) that the extra stuff except maybe the PSU will be retail stuff.
Got it from a member here. Not sure what the history is on it, where they got it from etc, but it is in pristine condition. Unopened, not tampered with and runs awesomely.
Basically what they'll send with it. Theres a translate area near the top of the screen. Ah my apologies for the misunderstanding.
From what I've learned before, double handle would probably mean two controllers. Take it as a grain of salt though as I can't promise that, but it rings a bell in my head. If you use a medium, they can normally ask the buyer questions for you, but its hard ro get in contact because of time zones etc, like I live in the UK and its like 2AM here I think they start to be available to talk to. I reccommend yoybuy.
