There is a company in the midwestern USA that had used glue boards (think fly paper) to kill birds. There is a very terrible video of live birds trying to free themselves from the poisoned glue. The company has stopped using the glue boards, but have not posted any form of apology at all. please send a message to: Carrie Thibodeaux <CarrieT@Spraguepest.com> The title should not have birds or glue in them , she might filter them. Please ask her to post a statement on the site apologizing for the anime torture, and to make a donation to the ASPCA. Kevin The terrible video is here...
I am not one to suport PETA or nut crazed animal rights groups but come on. Who would be that freaking cruel to birds. That person should get a huge freaking fine and jail time for that. That video makes me sick. (and I'm the kind who can stand seeing video of a guy being killed).
Email sent. Murderous greedy motherfckers in that factory or whatever it is. Also, Disneyland has "bird-killing" wires, that decapitate any birds that come below a certain height.
well the problem is defining what a pest is. Sure birds are birds, but this same stuff happens to mice and rats who even break their own necks trying to get off sheets like this.
That's never happened to me... Due to 56k and my supervisor's nosiness at work, I won't be able to see the video - therefore I won't be making any emails. I have a question, though: Why would someone do something like this?
This is why humans suck so much. Email sent: "I am truly disturbed and frightened by your company's use of glue traps as a way of killing birds. This is a despicable example of what humans will do to exterminate what are deemed "pests." I hope you have discontinued using this practice and have found a more human way to deal with such problems." Edit: Didn't include anything about public apology (which would have been BS and token anyway)/ASCPA, I just wanted to let them know that I thought it was awful.
Washington State is not the Midwest. @Ein Not the grammer police here or anything, but it should have said "humane way to deal" not human. They are doing the human thing, trying to remove an unwanted pest. After saying that, I do not think that's right either. It's a shame they can't think of a better way to deal with the situation. Glue traps are a horrid thing for rodents and now birds. I always hated when the pest folks would use them in our storage at my old job. There are non lethal ways in dealing with birds. Plastic spike strips that can be mounted to objects and netting is also used to keep them out. Unfortunately it's cheaper for their customer to pay the pest company to do this, than it is for them to clean the mess the birds make. I am only saying this because of the business I work in these issues come up once in a while. No, I do not do pest control, our company sells janitorial supplies.
I know, it was a typo that I noticed after writing the email. Human kind of works, depending on what definition of it you're using, but I meant humane. Oh well. Cry.
One carries shitloads of diseases and is actually known to infest houses/living areas and get into foodstuffs, while one just poops on things and *gasp* at its very worst will make nests under the eaves of your house. Of course, one is also considered to be an invasive species similar to a cockroach...
Rec'd a response: "This issue is from last year. Glue boards have been prohibited from use in bird control. Thank you for your comments." Hopefully they stopped.
i'm not the police either but it's GRAMMAR and not GRAMMER and the video about the birds...that just makes me sick
I wonder who cleans the traps, and what they do with the bodies?? Btw, I feel bad if one of our mouse traps go off, because mice are so small...I've seen nature do worse things than glue traps to birds, though. My dog caught and gutted a bird alive with his teeth before. No telling how many Opossums and Raccoons I had to throw over the fence because of my dog...
