Have you sold something in the past for next to nothing and for no apparent reason and then said to yourself “Im such a dumb F@#*†well I have. About 6-7 years ago I sold a lot of my collection off including NeoGeo AES, Wondermega all my jap MD games (about a 100) not that I really needed the money or that I didn’t have the room I just didn’t see the point I guess after the Playstation was out (damn PSX see what you did), so anyway went to CEX in London and got rid of all the shit got about £1100 which isn’t much. I still had some more games that I forgot to bring so I took my JAP Metal Slug down and sold it at another store for £80 yes 80!! I just saw someone on anther forum say they are going for £1000+ OMG, well that’s my sad little tale and don’t worry im trying to buy back all the stuff now for 50x how much I sold them for lol. Anyway if I ever state that I want to sell my collection please remind me of this little thread thx.
If we see you trying to sell your collection we will try to get you to do it for cheap I really regret selling my n64 to funcoland for 5 bucks. Not that its rare or anything, i just really loved that thing.
NEVER EVER sell your stuff to Funcoland/GameSTOP. They cheat you! I sold Yoshi's Story for $7, the next day, saw it behind the glass case for $47. I sold SNES Lion King there as well, it was the second video game I ever received from my parents :smt022, for SNES Zelda. I sold Super Mario Land 1 & 2 there. Back then, Funcoland used to have loads of Every nintendo console, mostly all Sega consoles, mostly every Atari console, 3DOs, mostly any console, u name it! That was after they finished building the store back in 2000. Now, all they have are new generation stuff. ATM, I really feel like selling my PSX Suikoden II, is it worth it?
I sold number of my Bandai soul of chogokin figures and really regret and managed to get most of them at much higher price than that I paid in the first place... Then there were my collection of diorama and finished plastic model kits that I left at the local model shop when I left to Sydney... I figured considering how fragile they were it wouldn't worth to trouble to bring them back with me... luckily I left few behind at my old man's place and years later he found those stored at the basement for a decade... game wise I don't have any regret as I only sell the duplicates...
I sold my N64 and what little games I had left for it about 3 years ago for $50 so I could buy Arc the Lad collection for the PSX before it got hard to find. Plus, my Mom would never pay for it over Ebay for me at the time, and I almost didnt find a copy! That was the last copy of ATLC I remember seeing on shelves complete with everything. Good thing I really, really LOVED that collection. I regret selling it for several reasons: 1. I want another one because I wasnt a collector back then, and I panicked when I thought I wouldnt get a copy in a long time or if I would get a copy at all. 2. I was labeled a "Sony Fanboy" by some fellow classmates for what I did. This follwed me for a few years ( and still haunts me sometimes), and I was called a casual gamer and all sorts of shit. Its one of the reasons my name is Mr. Casual, truthfully. Now I know that it was pure bullshit claims. I should be able to buy or sell what I please. 3. I also want another N64 because there are some games I havent played for it, yet, that I have wanted more recently.
Get roms & emus my friend! I recommend Duke Nukem 64, with no sound (Thats how I did in summer College Computer labs)...
Nah, I try to keep away from ROMS and Emus for games I can buy in the U.S. Mainly, I play Japanese translated ROMs for the Super Famicom, but not much else. I played my PSX cds on my computer the other day, but Im just going to use that to rip sprites. I do have some Neo Geo ROMs, and I had a full version of MS5 back in January 2004. I used to be a big ROM kiddy back in late 2003 through mid 2004, but now I do other things on the pc...
i got 40 winks for my birthday and returned it because i didnt like it. bleck i was so stupid when i was little, i could of had a good donation to the community dump.
I admit to being a huge rom kiddy (someone should coin that phrase). I needed a freaking 12 step program to stop playing them. I realised when I had 40 gigs of roms on dvd and nearly every goodset on my computer that I had a problem and really needed to stop. I never really cared taht it was piracy since I was playing games that were long dead (none of the newer generation stuff). I felt it was more of an homage to the programmers than anything else. Anyway a lot has changed since then and I am glad to say I am rom free
Wow, I thought no one else owned a GoodSet besides me :-D. I dont even play roms on my PC anymore, mostly on my PSP. I hardly even touch my PSP. I just leave everything to one buddy of mine who owns an FTP full of em'. Now, I can delete over 10 GB of HD space on my 300 GB external HD :happyhap:...
Damn, thats a lot of gigs for ROMs...The most I had was 3 gigs, because I had them archived wrong or something. Whats a goodset? A complete game ROM set for a certain system or what?
yeah its every rom for a certain system. I went one step further and got the goodset for every region. I think what was stored on my computer totalled around 150 gigs. Of course that did include the goodset of pc engine cd isos and neo geo cd isos
I sold a stack of flyers once for a lot cheaper than I bought them. MOST of them I wasn't too interested in, but there were a few that I was... including some unreleased game flyers, which I forgot to scan even. I needed space, and was getting rid of a lot of my collection. Everything else was easy to get back...that wasn't.
I sold many great SNes games back when I was almost broke and needed new PSX games. I fortunately was smart enough to keep FF3 and Chrono Trigger. I sold Vandal Hearts, ThunderForce V, Wild Arms, Megaman X4, Megaman 8, Legend of Legaia, and Einhänder on different ocassions. Some of these I traded for other of these (Vandal Hearts for Wild Arms, then Wild Arms for Thunderforce V). Sure, it was so I could get the next of these, or other important games (like FF7, FF8, or Xenogears) - but still, giving up these gems to GamePlanet (which used to be GameXpress back then) really hurts now. I wish I still had some of those. They're impossible to find now. Mind you, the last time I traded a game was probably 1999 or 2000. I was 18 and somewhat emotionally unstable, and very close to broke and games were relatively more expensive around here. I am less stupid now, fortunately. But I still get the urge to trade some of my games or sell them. Mainly, I have to get rid of Castlevania Lament of Innocence, which is cheap as dirt now. But there's no other likely way of me getting Ace Combat 5 if I don't sell something.
I regret selling my copy of Banjo Kazooie and Harvest Moon 64 at Babbages a few years ago. Those are two games I really enjoyed playing, and haven't seen them at the store lately. I know I get can them online, but I'd rather buy them at a store.
Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth for PSX. Traded that in a month after xmas. Now that game is quite rare . Other than that.... Selling my Model 2 SNES.
I really don't regret selling any of my gaming items. What I do regret is losing a good portion of my early EGM magazines as a result of some basement flooding a few years ago.
I've only ever sold 1 game. A double copy of RC PRO AM for NES at a garage sale. I do regret it... I have given games away though (friends, people who need them, etc) and I don't really regret that...its made some people happy. I have come to the conclusion though that having so man doubles can be pointless...(Do I need 10 NES Systems?) So, I think I'm going to be selling some stuff off very soon. Difference is, I think I'll be getting more than I paid for everything I bought.
I regret selling all of my 64 games and most of my dc games to gamestop and funcoland, all my 64 games and inlcuding my old 64 were mint box evertying, evne the expansion pack had its box, dc i had a shitloaf of games but sold most of them, i especialy regreat selling projustice, thats a bitch to get.
I regret selling my N64 collection 4 years back...but I really needed that money Collection included e.g.: 19 N64 Consoles, 2 64DD (one brand new), all 64DD games sealed, about 75 N64 games sealed, Toys 'R Us exclusives...and so on...
