I sold about 20 N64 games for £80 back in the day....and what did I buy with the money?? A mobile which noone ever phoned me on... :(

Had some great stuff in that, pretty much all the big N64 games up to and including 1999

I sold my mint N64 with 18mint games for way to cheap, I had all the great games like Paper Mario, Diddy Kong Racing, Zeldas and 3 rumble packs and a expansion pack. I was 13 and I needed the money for a Gamecube at the launch :(

the N64 seems to be a common sacrifice...

Yeah, that's what I was noticing. You find used N64 in every stand at the flea market. All my games come from there. And my N64, I bought from a friend that was selling it, so it is quite the sacrificial console.

Lack of decent software at its time can do that to a console.

Those claims were the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth dammit ;)

Anyway, I have never once sold any part of my collection, but I don't live without bad decisions. Back when I wasn't really a collector, but I still kept all my stuff, I threw out a lot of boxes. Were talking several system boxes and a lot of game boxes, and I regret that every damn day.

64DD with games, Espicially Talent Studio I made alot movie with that dam thing and had a bunch of people "immortalized" on it with the capture cartridge. Before I sold it I recorded all the movies on a VHS tape cause I kneww I would miss them.

I've never really regretted selling any of my gaming related items. I was a bit upset at myself for selling my PSOne, but I bought another one later, anyway. The same thing can be said of my PS2 (I actually have two of them, now).

There are a few PC games I wish I would've kept, but since I can't remember any of them they couldn't have been too important to me :).

I didn't sell it, but threw away the first three years of Nintendo Power. As much as I hoard game related stuff, it is unfathomable to me why I did this. My other regret is loaning all of my Turbografx titles to a "friend" and then never seeing the friend or the games again. It kills me every time that I end up paying double what i originally did to repurchase them. :smt022

Radiac - I feel your pain. ALL of my Famiclone games and adaptor (very good games, too!) were lent to a "friend" in the 12th grade in 1995.
I finally found my "friend" in 2003 in college (he went to the engineering school in my campus) and we did become friends again, but he "doesn't remember" me lending him my famiclone games.

    That really fucking sucked.

Then again, it's probably karma, since I kept another friend's whole NES collection. That "friend" did steal a whole lot of money from a painting of mine he sold to one of his friends, though, so I still have the losing edge.

Oh yeah, I used to have a lot of shit back in the day. You see, my cousin was a small-time C64 pirate (who mostly either swapped or froze games and called it 'cracking'). I got both my C64, and later my C128 from him, so of course I got the whole lot of disks. I had to have at least 500-700 disks chock full of cracked games and oldschool demos. But I sold my old C128 for $75, including all the disks. They're probably gone now... I know as well that I had a few things that I have yet to see floating around on the net. Plus, the games were enjoyable just as much for the intro, as they were the games (in fact, I used to load up some of the crap games just to watch the intro that the cracker had slapped on).

    Ah, those were good days.

Now that I remember, I loaned a bunch of stuff to somone who got murdered, I never bothered trying to convince his parents the stuff was mine.

Sad story. Stay away from the drugs.

Hmm, let's see. I lent a friend my NES Spyhunter in return for borrowing his Ice Climber. A kid in school stole the Spyhunter cart from my friend and I ended up keeping Ice Climber. It was real shitty too, because I went to hang out at the thief's house and I asked him about his 'newly acquired' Spy hunter cart. He denied taking it and I didn't have the soul to steal it back from him.

My brother once lent a friend of his a few of my PCE games with out my knowledge. Needless to say, I was fucking pissed when I found out. He acted like it was no big deal, lending out my belongings. After that incident I watched everything I owned like a hawk, questioning everyone in my house whenever something in my collection was amiss.

As far as selling stuff, I have made a few poor decisions in my collecting years. My friend and I had found a place that still had hoards of Mega CD games. We ended up getting the whole lot for dirt cheap, and splitting up the spoils of this great deal. About a year later I sold almost all the game I had purchased in that deal. I did make a tidy profit off of the sales, but I ended up buying back a few of the games I had sold off of Ebay. From that day forward I vowed never to sell any single items in my collection.

I also vowed never to sell anything at all. Unless I come across something non-japanese, that was also worth a bit. I gave all my amercian games away to a freind in need and once over 100 books of english manga to another freind with a boring summer on his hands. But never sold anything Japanese - I love all my games too much. Oh and lending is never a good idea - a chum once ruined an arcade stick of mine by scratching it to death with his ring and my little brother once stuch his fingers in my neo-geo's cart slot!
