The 360s Aren't Alright (3 Red Lights again!)

Well well well just having some halo games with my friends from college. It crashes. I reboot and re join alls well for 2 games then it crashes so I rebooted then BAM 3 red lights again! this marks my 3rd 360 down OH:

I know but my mate said to get some towels on it so I tried everything and well it didn't work haha :lol:

 

My retail unit has had the 3 RROD 3 times...the first 2, the towel trick worked, but i had the console open and wrapped the towel around the metal cage the motherboard is in...after about 15 minutes turn it off, let it cool and hopefully it will work. Like I said, it worked 2 out of the three times, the last time i couldn't get it fixed and it just gives a overheating error.

 

Ohhh, nice faceplate! Always wanted one of those. I can't wait for my elite to red ring, red on black ought to look nice.

 

I've had two 360s, and I have been lucky (One of them was a launch 360 sold to my friend, and it still works great). I do get DRE at times, though (Granted, I am not sure if that was more the disc being scratched up then anything).

 

Well I have never had any problems with my 360,but I really don't use it that much.Sucks your 360 is FUBAR.

After going through 3, I punted that console and haven't regretted it. I'll never buy another MS piece of shit console again in my life.

 

buy an xbox 1 and mod it. You'll enjoy it.

 

To me, it looks like to get a 360 working. Is buy a completely new one, and mod it (not chipping by the way) like Ben Heckendorn did, and put some serious cooling system on the fucker. Since untill now , then it looks like MS are fucking themselfs over bigtime by making a very shitty quality console. Since my original XBOX still works fine.

 

Just a quick question. I bought an Elite on the UK launch day that supposedly came with extra cooling etc and dare I say immune to the RRoD. I took out an extended warrenty anyways, so I was just wondering should I deliberately brick it a month before the warrenty ends?

 

I'm on my eighth system. Yeah.

 

Wow I was gonna get a 360 sometime but you guys are making it seem not so worthy . Yeah I think I will just stick with My Dreamcasts.

 

yes. fuck that thing up before the warranty ends. You paid for it, so why not get a new one before it expires anyways? It's not like they'll suspect anything, or even ask questions, these things die all the time.

I'm assuming the best way to kill it would be to block the air vents and let it heat up?

 

Had mine for about 18 months now and the last few days it's been having random hang-ups, power off/on and it works again. Hoping this isn't a sign of things to come =/

 

Was there any odd lines appearing on the screen? Because thats what happened to me this time round while before it was just the screen froze

 

The Screen just freezes, audio keeps going but it doesn't respond to anything but the power button on the system itself. Power it off/on and it's working again.
