The 360s Aren't Alright (3 Red Lights again!)

I swear my 2nd 360's death is immennt.

Same deal it's my cables though.

 

I'm on my 3rd 360, this one has lasted the longest. The thing is I don't play them that often. Definitely the least dependable system I've owned.

 

Got it back yesterday which was pretty fast but the 360 didn't come back in really good nick to be honest its got some scrachs on the back which I can live with but the DVD drive has been changed?

 

I wish i thought about sending my 360 to Microsoft, if i had one now.
i went through 4 XBOX 360s within a month thats got to be some kind of record.

2 had the 3 red lights, 1 wouldn't let my disc come out so Halo 3 was trapped inside.

The second got the 3 red lights as soon as i got it home.

The third which was an Elite had faulty cables,

And i got rid of the fourth because i couldn't be bothered with the hassle.

 

Refurb #2 for me just shit out on me. The DVD drive crapped out and since it didn't RRoD on me, no simple replacement. I'm contemplating selling my games and two HDDs, but I know I won't get jack shit for them, so I may just buy a new one.

 

You could get something for the HDDs I guess.

Man, a couple months ago I wouldn't have even considered the idea of getting a PS3 for GTAIV, but now...

 

Well, I went and bought a new 360. I intend to get a PS3 this summer though...

If your xbox is showing the 3 red light than yes MS will fix it for free.

I love my 360 it is just so freaking loud. I am on my second one but this freaking thing is way louder than anything in the entire house.

 

still on my first one, was a core that had been upgraded with the HD.
It´s from the first production run und still works. Had been opened before I got it though, so I went to it and modded the air intake in such a way that air is forced through those tiny heatsinks. What can I say, it now runs cooler (more hot air comes out of the back) and quieter.

I found that on some of the 360's with a loud fan the plastic that covers the cpus was not seated correctly. One trick. if you just slightly looses the bottom screws toward the fan sometimes works. I have seen a few were those were overtightened and this caused the plastic inside to bend causing the fan to run faster and in turn cause the 3ROD.

 

I have HDMI. Unplugging it does nothing! Still solid advice.

 

I will try this but it sounds like the CD rom spinning up. That is the loud part.
