PC Engine Games Oh yes PCE games, I want them. Are they samples??? I want to grow my samples collection, only 5-6 at the moment. Any PC-FX Stuffs at Acclaim? I bet not :smt022 Sabre
Did anyone say these were betas? Although I can't be sure, this just sounds like Acclaim had some normal release games that they purchased in an effort to see if they were interested in developing for these systems. I could be wrong, but this is a pretty standard industry practice.
I'd just like to throw in my 2 cents worth on the award thing..... Please, take a look at this: http://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=84307 This is a GENUINE presentation disc. Not one of those crappy sprayed gold thingies you can buy. This really was presented to the artist, or the company. The seller is a big record collectors' store. As you can see the disc isn't even gold (OK gold discs are actually for less than a million sales, so this is platinum or something). Its just the actual bloody disc in a frame, and a note explaining what it is. Yet they want £350 (that's nearly $700). And they sell these things. Often. the minimum I've seen them sell a gold disc for is £250. And they get it. Why? It isn't because its the actual product sprayed gold. Its because of WHO it was awarded to. It is a REAL award, given to someone. This is a REAL award, presented to Acclaim, for a damn fine game. It is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it (the golden rule people always forget). If someone will gladly pay $200 for it, then it is worth it (at least to them). If two people will, it obviously is. Just because it isn't IN YOUR OPINION doesn't mean it isn't. Hell, there's no way you'd see me paying $1000 for (IMHO) a dev kit for the crappy PS2, but they were snapped up. As for the paint... well i guess anonymous could take a look..... how is the spray paint around the label? Is it even? Does it overlap? Does it fall short of the label? Does it look smooth, as if it goes under the label? If the latter, then the label has most likely been applied afterwards - and it is pretty difficult to remove a game label, then reapply it, without it looking obvious. You could also look around the bottom by the actual connector (if you can see past the frame), but again, even in mass production the inside doesn't have to be sprayed. My point then - so what if its "just" been sprayed? So are a lot of REAL awards in other fields. We know that this IS the real deal, awarded to Acclaim. THAT is where its value lies, in the fact it is authentic. This makes it a unique item (SO WHAT if you can reproduce it? Movie props can be and ARE reproduced, but the reproductions are worth sh1t in comparison to the original), and hence sought after. Collectors like unique items, and will pay for them. So let's not be so quick to be judgemental - I don't go around saying YUCK to all the things on here that I don't like the look of, nor do most board members! The board would be full of spam! :-D
My point was that someone better buy it for personal satisfaction because no one outside of this forum would buy it (believe it's authenticity) I didn't know people would actually want it, I had my eye on it before it was posted but I don't know what the hell I'd do with it; I'll stay out of the bidding (especially at $200!) Happy for it to go to someone who actually still likes MK
I mean...I don't think you have to have to be a mega collector to find the MK award really neat. My friends found it to be wicked cool.
Holy crap! I'm not an MK fan at all, but that board is just awesome! That's just a plain neat thing to have. :smt023 Damnit, so much sweet stuff...may have to break out a little cash for this, unlike what I intended. Much bigger than I ever could've imagined. :smt042 :smt023
Holy Shit! rayer: rayer: rayer: rayer: just saw this thread, and wow! i can't belive my eyes......is it christmas already? damn.this ANONYMOUS guy is damn lucky. and i said i was a collector.. :smt009
