    Assembler,
I know what you go though. Just go look up the flaming I got for bringing a n64 emulator to psp. Stupid ****s flaming me multiple times under different nicks just to seem cool (i mean hell the guy agree's with himself and then repeats the same thing word for word, so stupid).

Oh well laughs on them since they wont get to play current builds for a long time.

Anyways we had a ebay transation for a nr that went well. So i know your tops!

I've only been here for a short while, but already this is what I consider the most intelligent forum I visit. Its a cut above the few private forums I am privy to, contains much more intelligent gamers than the folks at the close knit Classic Sega Board at IGN, and its leagues above the horrid neo-geo.com and shmups.com (both of which I keep meaning to ditch, both of which share some of the same jackasses, and both of which I loathe aside from a handful of members from each).

At any rate, I do know deep down that when I'm going to buy a SGX Saturn, I'll probably turn to here first. When I want to finally purchase Derisoba Deluxe, Eyeful Home, or Heim Waltz, it'll be here that I put the word out. When I finally reach the supposed "edge of the world" as far as my Saturn stuff goes, it'll be here that I make the inquiries to expand my horizons/collection.

For all intents and purposes, I'm a n00b here (heh), but I still see this as a great place. A safe haven for collectors who want to escape all the pathetic people on most other gaming forums demanding ports, remakes, rereleases, etc. for rare games because "they can't afford it" and "all collectors are evil assholes". One of the few "classic" gaming boards NOT infested with Sony fanboys (already touched on the two I'm familiar with), and all around this place just has a nice good solid vibe to it.

Shit, I'll even donate some money. Fuck people who can't afford the finer pieces of gaming and then bitch about it.

Edit: Well, I will donate... whenever I can figure out where I do it.

First: I consider Kevin an excellent seller.

I've only purchased one thing from him: a blue debugger Playstation. Long story short, he jumped through a lot of hoops to make sure it was absolutely perfect for me. (Involved being sent back) I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again. That Playstation, complete with QA # 115 Etched in (which I consider very charming) still sits on myself...and its one of my favorite parts of my collection.

    Teh Drama?

I'm not the type who holds a grudge...So I'll just say that we should let all of these issues drop. I'm sure we've all got better things to do than to fuck with each other over the internet.

Can't we all just get along?

I too have only been here a short while and this is the only gaming board I visit regularly. I am constantly in awe of the knowledge some of you wield around here. For the most part I just lurk since I don't have much tech/programming info to share. So it has been with much dismay that I have seen the events of the last few weeks unfold. With the leaving of old engineer and the ensuing drama it really seemed that this board was self destructing. I'm glad to see a post putting everything out in the open as now people can read, react and move on.

As far as Kevins reputation I have personally had no dealings with him so I can't speculate on that, but for putting up with all the shit that comes with running this board he gets a gold star in my book . In closing, this board means a lot to me as I don't know where else you can find the sort of info you can get around here on a daily basis. We can't let the actions of a few ruin the enjoyment of the many.

And yes, i had a 200w psu so the pc would shut down when windows started to load. So i didnt do anything and just left it int he box inside the anti static bag until i got a bigger power supply, so i did and it doesnt work, i just told you about it and you told me to send it back and i did, and i waited for about 3 months and i didnt even mention anything about it , until i asked you about it and then you almost didnt want it to send it back because it owuld cost me money.... so dont even mention me here man. I never really bitched about it.

Let me say this before you edit your post *again* to change your story.

You mailed it to me in a tiny box the exact size of the card and it got crushed.
You don't put a video card with a massive heat pipe on it in loose packing peanuts. It was packed so poorly that fedex would not honor the insurance on it.

I went out of my way to mail / remail it to you at my expense so you could claim on the insurance.

I sent it to you insured out of my own pocket so you could claim on the item legit, without so much as a thanks for my effort.

All months after you bought it and put it in a pc with a tiny psu and killed it.

It's not my fault you put a 9800 pro in a HP with a tiny power supply.

Until you said something, no one knew who the person stupid enough to
    do that
    was.

But now they know, you told them yourself! You have invited the ridicule of all those here.

Bitched about fucking up your own video card? Who would you bitch to? Yourself?

    Well done!

that was with the 200w psu, after i got the 350w psu i got alot of weird lines of different colors all over the screen and couldnt read anything. So yeah, aparently having a 200w hp psu killed the card.

Most likely it was, as manufactuers like Dell or HP use (or used I should say) low quality PSU's to keep ther cost down. Some have rediculously low voltages on the 12V rail, which could damage video cards that exceed its specs. If you still have it, check how much the 12V rail has on the PSU.

That's a wattage issue. Not enough power causes a PC to shut down at boot.

The damage was likely caused by overly-stressed components.

ASSEMbler, first of all, I'd like to say that I have the utmost respect for you and this website. However, you have essentially become a public figure. A celebrity even. People jealous of what you own as a collector, and as an administrator of (what I think to be) the greatest site on the internet, will always be there to scrutinize anything, and everything you do. So goes the life of anyone of importance. I'm not saying that you chose this life, or even want it, but I think I'm not alone in saying that everyone on this board is thankful for everything you put up with, to keep this wonderful community alive.

It seems our annoying sonic friend from poland is back.

I wonder if there is a way to block all proxy servers.

I love this place, and I hope it will continue to exist for many years to come. I guess there will always be some people who will try to sabotage, but as a community we can get past that.

As a relatively new member with little familiarity of this forum I have a great opportunity to view all of this as a 'fly on the wall' so to speak and I find it quite astonishing that a few words and pictures about a few different types of hardware and media has caused such a comical and yet sad situation.

By no means do I think it's funny that people are receiving death threats etc but I can't help think that everybody here just needs to chill out and stop taking everything so seriously. I understand that for some there is a great financial and chronological investment in this site and admittedly the rewards have been great to casual and hardcore alike, but is it really worth allowing your life beyond the off button on your PC to become affected by kids with nothing better do to the point where you have to start issuing statements and going on IP witchhunts?

It appears to me that alot of these problems stem from the fact that you all rose to the bait in the first place, 9 times out of 10, passion for a cause, creates blindness in an argument.

I'm no expert on these matters and I rarely speak out in such frays however the hostility on this board is so great I can't help but say something.

ASSEMbler: I noticed in another thread you were trying to find out why there was an element of fear on this board, as a new member I may be able to help as I feel like I am a victim of this fear.

    1. Interrogative registration process, linked with patronising member titles.

    2. Some moderators tend to do their job a bit too OTT, also swearing at someone when they do something wrong is not helpful in creating a 'community'. See the recent Sonic sale in marketplace for an example.

    3. Board arrogance, I don't know where it comes from but there is no leg room for someone like myself here to become accustomed with methods and techniques associated with collecting and researching gaming curio, it appears you either know it or you don't on this board and there is no inbetween.

    4. People still keep going on about the 'incidents' as if they were more important than anything else in the world, let sleeping dogs lie. People aren't voicing their opinions or speaking freely because their afraid of being accused as another member of Sonic Cult or Neo Geo, simply because they use '...' at the begininng of their posts, granted those users were fraudulent but I can't help analysing my own posts recently incase they appear to be potentially damaging.
-Keep reminding people of what happened and they'll keep bringing back up the same arguments, when was the last time anyone ever agreed on anything on a forum? Fair enough moderate in light of what happened but for christ sake don't give people ammo whilst doing it.

    5. Educate - Democracy is good but at least try to guide people before making humiliating polls about them.

Anyway, I fear I've said too much, and my actions are becoming somewhat ironic and hypocritical.

    Just my 2 cents.

You have some valid points, but not all of them I can fix.

The reg, I can't do anything about, new reg's could be troublemakers
I.E. Spammers. I tried to make it more user friendly, and the same
person comes back over and over, and given only the admin has power
to ban / delete a user, I'm in a bind.

The possibility for forum flooding and random rude posting remains.
    It happened only yesterday.

I agree on the new user titles, I removed them to be more welcoming.

As to the users, I can't control their views. Let's be blunt, this isn't
a normal message boards. It's more enthusiast.

I can't force someone to be friendly to a new user. However,
we do state that all people need to be treated with respect, no matter the
level they are on. However, I can't control everyone.

The problem is we'd love to put the inicidents behind us, but
certain people keep coming back to bother us over and over.
I wish it would go away, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Basically this post is because I had to clear the air, and is part of an effort to get the boards back on track.

To be honest I don't know how other boards deal with abuse like this,
I sure could use some ideas on how to defeat this kind of behavior.
