I've never seen a green i/o cover. I'd like to know where they've all gone. I'd buy three.
I could do with some blue ones too & Probably even some greys.

If you're buying a blue/green then you should expect no i/o cover, the laser is probably dead, the case will have chunks taken out of it, scratches & various stickers and permanent marker scrawls like "QA Department, Do Not Steal".

One I got recently had 110v ONLY!!! wriiten in three places on the case, it didn't power up though & the large cap on the power board had a hole in the top. I can only guess that it got a dose of 240v. I don't know what happens if you plug a 240v into 110v, so this might be a europe only problem. Only other non working problem I've had is blown fuses.

I've also seen the cd connector stripped off the main board, a little bit of repair is needed there.

If it doesn't say mint then it isn't.

I don't think you needed to do that at all, the best weapon against the individuals who started to post shite on you is ignorance, these are just no-life people. You gotta be really sad to spend 14 hours on an IRC in an attempt to ruin one's reputation and/work and they should be dealt with like any virus maker or hackers.

The bottom line is, after all these years, we know who you are and we indeed trust you. I've dealt with you on one occasion and you sent me the goods in superb condition, in less time than expected and with some freebies :icon_bigg .

At the end of the day, these people spend way too much in front of a computer:drool: , they should try to have a real life, see people and stop wanking themselves and try to do something constructive with their lives.

I would prefer to counter with new and exciting content.

I've been busy helping run a large event in the meadowlands, I will be done in about ten days. Then I can focus on some really exciting stuff.

I must admit, the Assembler message boards are very fair when it comes to stuff. Personally, I think the moderators on this board are curdious when compared to some of the other ones on other message boards. Granted, I do miss some of the content on the development systems that was on the old site, but that is a small price to pay. I will never understand why people will cause internet drama for no reason, or be unreasonable (Assembler's auctions, for example). Like earlier posters said, people need to calm down and think with logic before they do shit for no reason.

Edit: Oh, and on what to do with troublemakers, it varies from board to board. Gamefaqs will pretty much ban anyone who crosses the line too much on something, but it still has problems with people. Sonic Cult, the board you had problems with, was a fairly hostile board: Say anything slightly wrong or get on someones bad side, and you were pretty much gone.

Is unregistered posting still on, or was it shut off? Does it/has it benifit anyone in the end on the boards, or has it been more of a hassle?

I've only been posting here a REALLY short time, but I used to lurk on the old boards and check out Assembler's site frequently and love the work that he's put into everything. The community seems great. Intelligent, mellow, and knowledgeable without being pretentious. It's hard to find a good game board (or board at all) online, so thanks for building something I'd like to be a part of.

On the whole, "the empty can rattles the most" seems to be what I'm getting from all this. Unfortunately people don't understand the distinction between free speech and harassment. If you really feel attacked, threatened, bothered you should consult a lawyer. These people are simply not anonymous.

Anyway, hopefully I'll be sticking around and presence here won't turn into a problem. ;)

    Cheers

It was turned off, with good reason.

When forums get as big/well-known/old as this, certain issues will come to light over time. That's just the way it is. People will get to know each other almost like colleagues and, just as in real life, some of them won't get along. Others will be dicks and try and ruin it for everyone else. So far this all seems to have been dealt with reasonably well, there's now a good moderation policy in effect. Twimfy pointed out that the response to not abiding the rules in a sales thread included swearing, it's got to also be pointed out that the response was by liquitt who is not a moderator. It's not fair to criticise the running of a forum based on the response of its posters.

I guess what I've seen over the last few months is quite a few posts saying "GOD IT'S FUCKED UP IN HERE". Well, yes, if that's posted then things are going to seem fucked up. There's been a few people who felt they were so oppressed here that they just simply couldn't stay; alright, then move on. I don't understand the actions of the spammers recently and wish they'd just stay gone, but I guess that's not up to me.

The best plan is to put all this behind us.

I am, quite simply, lost for words. I realise that my contributions to the Home of the Obscure are mostly useless commentary or just white noise, but still.

While there is no minimum age for the boards, are we all not civilised? Sure, people are going to fall out over silly things, or even just plain not like each other. We're all human, so that kinda crap comes naturally to us.

I just hope that for those who are causing (or considering to) harm the community, realise that there is no need for such actions. They are welcome to hold their own beliefs and opinions, but they really do not need to force this senseless fighting.

Can we not just call a truce of agreeing to disagree?

In addition, while I am adding my own useless opinion to the mix, just thought I'd say you are a top man Kevin and that I am, as with the others, behind you 100% Just sucks you never used the ASSEMbler banner I made :fresh:

Honestly, as a moderator on a bunch of other boards (all car-related), I have to say that this is an impeccably moderated board. This post took me by surprise, as if there's bullshit going on behind the scenes, the mod team certainly does a good job at making it invisible to ordinary users, which is precisely what they're supposed to be doing.

At any rate, ASSEMbler does the gaming community in general a HUGE service with this site, and it's not like anyone could run it, only he could run it. If it was someone else's site under someone else's direction, it wouldn't be as valuable.

Otherwise, my presently-intoxicated self pretty much echoes the sentiment of Deathcoaster, as I'm another reliable provider of useless white-noise posts who nevertheless really enjoys the site and would really like to see it continue unmolested by those small people who would seek to damage it.

Hey Assembler, do you have any of the devkits/special editon consoles for the PS2/Xbox/360 that you can do a article on, or maybe some older rarities you got recently? It would be interesting to see some of the stuff that came with the last generation of gaming (Like the PS2 Linux development kit, Xbox debug kit, etc).

Sorry Kev I don't know you that well, but as a seller myself you probably need to be reminded that you can't let stuff like this get to you. Take some time to vent but you have to clear your mind of that stuff soon.

All of the cliches are true... You don't need the baggage, there will always be assholes out there, you can't please everyone, don't sweat it, etc...

Just do what you do best and your sales and reputation will take care of themselves in the end. If you bend over backwards for customers then realize that the ones who aren't pleased just aren't going to be pleased and move on. I'm sure you have 10 good buyers for each bad one, probably more. Think of the big picture instead a couple of deals.

Assholes do this just to get reactions out of you. You can't get rid of them but you can choose to ignore them. At that point they become worthless assholes.

I've seen the negative views of some people on other message boards, but at the end of the day I'm not the sort of person who'll take it personally if somebody here told me if I was wrong. The reason I keep posting here at the Assembler forums is because many of you (far too many names to list - we all know who, though!) have quite possibly the best collections in the world plus a wealth of knowledge on prototype or unreleased videogames and hardware as well. I can only feel deeply sorry for anybody unable to respect such dedication and kindness to share this information - whenever non-disclosure agreements don't get in the way, that is! Maybe one day I can learn enough to become as highly regarded as the best of Assembler's regular posters and perhaps even find ways to acquire my own so-called holy grails...

P.S. Instead of destroying the community spirit, at least here it's always being strengthened by new discoveries and group projects. Long live Assembler and his online treasure chest!

People expect far too much from this forum, I think. There are idiots far and wide, and it should be expected that a few should show up on this site (not naming names, since I don't have anything against anyone who left).

Also, for the "reliability" of ASSEMbler in his transactions - I've ordered one thing, which was a TEST PS2. He took a little while to ship, but he was also backed up beyond belief (right after the Acclaim auction). He never said it was new, but he said it did work. Lo and behold, I get a pretty decent looking TEST PS2 that still works like a charm (expertly packed, I might add). Read the fine print before you buy, that goes with anything.

I must admit I have always enjoyed this forum. The moderators are superb and very helpful. I do miss some of the old members from the ezboards but as they say things go on. As for those incidents id say ignore them and keep making this the best damn forum for hardcore collectors and gamers alike.

Kev your contributions to the community are amazing and this board has been the best place I can go to talk to to others of my same level of intrests in games. I have always appreciated you answering questions I have had, even if they were annoying. Keep up the great work.

Was there ever a need to bump this after all the drama died down? Things happen, thats the way of life, just let it go away sometimes
