    The PSP remake?

Edit: The only game of this series I've ever played was Star Ocean: Till the End of Time released on the PS2. I remember playing it for about ~20h but then I gave up... I didn't feel the storyline that much. I wonder if the others are better?

WOW, you read my mind!! I was just watching a trailer on gamespot of the upcoming Persona for the PSP!
Thanks, I guess I'll choose this franchise, although I never played it before.

Chrono Trigger's probably the best RPG I've ever played.

That said I don't really think any traditional RPG is suited to a handheld. For me RPGs are all about getting lost in a richly detailed, epic sense of atmosphere and adventure, and all that goes out the window on a 3" screen with shitty speakers.

    Hmmm... now I'm undecided heh.
I've heard the encounter rate on the first persona game is terribly insane... do you guys think I can play P3P which will be released in about 6 days even without playing the first one?

If you want HARDCORE, how about "Wizardry V: Heart of the Maelstrom" for SNES? There's pretty much no story though, if you care about that.

it is pretty cool ;) I'm playing it for about 12 hours now, and until now, the story is really nice. I do really love the characters and the short anime clips during your adventure!

I've never played the PS1 version of this game, so I can't tell you the differences

All the Persona games have pretty much nothing to do with each other as far as storylines go, other than a few random references, and of course the personas are pretty much the same. I have no idea about the PSP version, but the PS2 version of Persona 3 might be my favorite JRPG of all time. Basically, if a game released in 2010 still has unskippable random encounters, it's probably not worth playing.

I guess I'll try both Lunar and Persona ports for the PSP.
Next week I may get the new P3P and I might stick with that...
I'll put up my impressions later.

I just wanted to say I started playing Lunar: Silver Star Harmony for the PSP, and I'm loving it!
For anyone who's interested in getting the limited edition of this game, I've found a nice deal on ebay - click -

Ah yes Terranigma, brilliant game that. I was quite impressed with some of the music from that game too.

If you like your tactical RPG's then you can't go wrong with Front Mission. There's an English language fan translated SNES rom floating around, and of course the DS and PS1 versions. Naturally it's best to start off with the first game in the series.

I've played a bit of Star Ocean (translated version), but I'm not a fan of the overly complex storyline, and the random battles are a bit of a nightmare in some parts of the game. Other than that it looks and sounds fantastic, and it's obvious a lot of effort must've gone into it.

The Best RPGs ive ever played so far are 5. And the 3 of them are of the 16-bit era.
    In no particular order:

    Mother 2
    Mother 3
    Chrono Trigger
Lufia II: The Rise o the Sinistrals
    Lufia: The legend Returns

Best of luck on Persona 1. They did a few things to make it less brutal but it's still a very unforgiving game. =(

    I can't wait till tuesday when I can get P3P. =)

Pretty much all MegaTen games are BRUTAL. P3 is pretty easy in comparison with the earlier ones, but even it can get kinda tricky.
