Me too! I'm at lvl. 12 just setting sail on Orca! The game is too easy, don't you think? Despite that I'm fascinated with the storyline... I'm also getting worried with what may happen from now on.. I mean, being a Lunar collector means spending loads of buck...... I guess I'll start with a strategy guide, just for the sake of the lovely concept art & secrets. Haha, thanks but I'll be playing Lunar for a while for now. I've found my true love:love2:!
Chaos Seed (SFC) and Rudras Treasure (SFC) both over 100 hours of normal playtime. Star Ocean is really short on SFC. Tales of Phantasia is hard too.
Live a Live is also good if he is looking for Jpn only fantrasnslated 16bit rpgs. Energy breaker also if you like Turn based strategy-like battles.
Well i love sakaguchi RPGs , squaresoft make the best rpgs ever !!! Mr. Sakaguchi is like an god for me. Golden time on SFC 1996 Greatest developer ever ray: I grow up with Seiken densetsu 3, chrono trigger, FF6 and so far ...
Hmm, great. I will update the front page with the suggestioned RPGs, so we can make a list with the best RPGs ever released. I'll broaden the wanted platforms. Check out the front page for details, and feel free to submit your favorite games! (must be JRPGs only).
Well im freaking SFC Squaresoft Fan, i played it all. My top ten: 1: Chrono Trigger :love2: 2: Final Fantasy 3/6 US 3: Seiken Densetsu 3 JP 4: Rudras Treasure 5: Star Ocean 6: Tales of Destiny Ps1 :love2: 7: Heracles 3/4 8: Seiken densetsu 2 JP 9: Final fantasy 7 10: Xenogears Japan RPGs time *golden time* thx Mr Sakaguchi!!!! ray:ray:ray:
SFC Dragon Quest VI will keep you busy for quite awhile if you go about finding all the medals, finishing the Slime Arena, and mastering all job classes. There's also a few things you can do after "completing" the game as well. The DS port is nice but they removed a few things to make it a tad easier/simplified which I don't care for. DQ VII is really long as well. Probably my favorite of all the Dragon Quest series.
i like DQ6-8 very much. But have an look on squaresoft and whats after it... Best RPG company ever... So i waiting for Mistwalker. The first Star Ocean is the best I love your way Mr Sakaguchi!!!
I'm surprised nobody mentioned Grandia yet, heh. I've played it (PSX ver.) for about ~30h and I pretty much enjoyed it. Should I add it to the list? What about Grandia 2 and 3 anyone?
Good Rpg Titles till the Death of Dreamcast (Just a quick list to help Treamcaster. May have omissions) psx: Grandia 1 Lunar 1+2 Vagrant Story Breath of fire 3+4 FF 7,8,9 Wild Arms 1,2 Valkyrie profile Star Ocean 2 Xenogears Dragon Warrior 7 Persona Revelations Persona: Eternal Punishment Persona: Innocent Sin Seiken Densetsu: Legend of Mana tales of Destiny 1,2 SNES: Earthbound Chrono Trigger Rudora no Hihou (Rudra's Treasure) Live a Live Energy Breaker Lufia 1,2 FF6 Metal Max 1,2, Kai Seiken Densetsu 2,3 Hercules no Eikou 3,4 Tales of Phantasia Star Ocean 1 Dreamcast: SGGG E.G.G. Grandia 2 Mega Drive/Genesis: Story of Thor Phantasy Star 2,3,4 Shining Force 1,2 SMS: Phantasy star 1 Sega CD: Shining Force CD Lunar 1,2 Vay Saturn: Dragon Force Shning Force 3(all scenarios) Shining the Holy Ark Albert Odyssey NES: Mother 1 All FFs (even though some got remastered editions already) All Dragon Quests (even though some got remastered editions already) There are Many many more titles but it is 5 in the morning here so my brain is a little stiff. Sorry for any possible omissions. I also didnt bother writing about NGPC, GB, GBC, GBA and Wonderswan/Color RPGs maybe i'll help when my brain is clearer.
I could have, but it was 5 in the morning and had to finally go to bed after playing enough Dragon Warrior 7...
Seriously, how has no one mentioned Legend of Dragoon (PSX) yet?? That game, along with final fantasy 7-9, the Parasite Eve series, Xenogears, Chrono Cross, the Tales series thats available for it and countless others are why i picked the 32bit era. Although my favorite rpg of all time (Final Fantasy 10) is on PS2. But yeah, anyone who hasnt already done it needs to play legend of dragoon, such a great game IMO. Wish some more games used that additions system they used in combat.
The golden Era of RPG's is never ending for me. I love and enjoy all RPG games from the 8-bit generation until now in their own ways.
Forgot to mention Panzer Dragoon saga for the Sega Saturn Yes you should add every suikoden for the ps1 and ps2 except from suikoden 4 which kinda sucks. Btw! 32/64 bit era go together since n64/saturn and playstation are of the same gen.
well, i guess you're not including Lost Odyssey, but you're missing out on one of the best JRPGs in recent memory.
That's because the original topic was just SNES/PSP/PSX, so nothing recent would have been appropriate. Now that it has been changed, I'll second Lost Odyssey
