Alan Wake is awesome. The game play is new and different but in a good way. The music is pretty good as well, and the graphics are just really good. Also Wii's New Super Mario Bros, is really good, Sonic 4 reminds me of it alot with all the new stuff that has been added. COD MW 2 is pretty good, and can not leave out the Tekken's and Street Fighters that have came out. Hawk
I don't know what's so "new and different" about Alan Awake.. Anyway this generation can't be categorised as a giant leap from the one before it. The Xbox already had fancy physics and shaders and Half Life 2 was made possible on it. Yes I'm probably jaded and need to take a break or something haha. I'm probably going to go with Ghostbusters and Saints Row 2.
After playing the demo i expected Heavy Rain to be largely awful, and whilst as a pure "game" it's still lacking, the experience really is great. Truly depressing as a game, which we don't get that often. Wipeout HD (especially with Fury added) is amazing. MLB the show games are incredible - just so well put together Portal is incredible in every single aspect, GladOS is so amazingly well voiced too. Left4Dead is the new gauntlet too Pacific Rift is so much better than the first that it'll just frustrate you. I was stunned at how much better PR was - some of the tracks, especially the rocky one borderline on photo realistic as the lighting is that good. Incredible stuff.
gears 2's multiplayer was changed from a fast paced gladiator style shotgun rush, to a slow moving tactical battle arena like gameplay. It wasn't bad, just not what i like, as were gears 1 had it perfect. I cant explain why i didn't like fable 2, i just didn't like it, something just seemed different, i just couldn't play it.
That's why i'm looking for the complete version, with all patches and add-ons. I know PR is way better, but i'm tempted to check how the series started. As for PR, i like everything about it. I never thought the game was so good. Hope they announce another sequel at this year's E3. Anyway, do you think the Speed and Adrenaline DLC Packs for PR are worth it? I'm planning to get them as well. Just need to setup my internet for the PS3, download tons of updates (for all the games i have) and then get one of those European PSN Cards.
Thats fair enough. I don't play multiplayer anyway. I did try, for sake of the achievments, and I just got raped. Fable I really dislike anyway.
I haven't played PR yet (Only first & PSP ver). Man the first game was such a system seller for me. I went to a friends place and played the demo for MS on his nice plasma and pretty much had to get a PS3.
The first Motorstorm blew my load, it was ExciteTruck that blew me away. Pacific Rigt redeemed the franchise for me, and the PSP version was quite good as well. I can't say I liked the PS2 port of Arctic AIDS.
Best Comeback: Fallout3 The game that redefined horror: Dead Space +1 for originality: What else? Portal Best Spinoff: CoD Modern Warfare Worst sequel and disappointment: Modern Warfare 2 Best not launched game: DNF! And the "who cares anymore?" award goes to............. . . . . ........wait for it... . . . . . Sonic 4
Arg! How did I forget Dead Space? I really enjoyed MW2, and I didn't even touch the multiplayer- but then, I haven't played the first!
CoD Modern Warfare was by far the best non-scifi war game ever: great story, perfect gameplay and excellent (although not mind-blowing) graphics. The best of all? is LONG, it doesnt have the kind of WTF ending MW2 has
I enjoyed MW2 a lot; short and punchy. For more action, I'll play again on a higher difficulty someday. COD4 is on my to play list.. eventually!
Guess I feel the same way about Xbox 360, as Yakumo does, plus all the Cave-love it constantly gets :love2: The best current-gen games too me; Xbox 360: - Bioshock (the atmosphere was awe!) - Death Smiles (possibly best vertical shooter?) - Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (leveldesign, theme, music, everything!) - plus many of the Marketplace releases <3 PS3 - God of War III (not as great as #1 & #2, but still one of the best PS3 games out there) - Uncharted 2 (great story, with some amazing graphics) Wii - Super Mario Galaxy (just pure Nintendo-magic!)
Fallout 3 just blew me away....and i still love it and play it The Orange Box/Portal:cheap, great, fun for months / pretty intense (got all Achievements for this one...it was hard work) and very creative BF BC 1/2: I just like the Multiplayer^^
I haven't played many current-gen stuff, but the best games in my opinion were Fallout 3 and Mirror's Edge. Darkest of Days was pretty interesting too.
Forgot about Burnout Paradise. Fantastic game. In my opinion, it's the 2nd best one on the series, right after Burnout 3: Takedown.
My fav current gen games: 1. the Gears of War series. Amazing gameplay, amazing graphics, the second game's single player campaign was almost a "kitchen sink" game, where they pretty much threw every idea you could possibly have for the series into one game. "Fight brumaks, ok and how bout riding one?" I think they're going for a different direction with Gears 3 because they just exhuasted any kind of city or underground combat idea with Gears 2 2. Super Mario Galaxy: Its 3D Mario with an added gravity dimension thrown in. Brilliant design. Years from now people will still be playing this. 3. Final Fantasy 13: Yep I said it. Incredible story, incredible graphics, probably the best combat system the series has seen, decent replay with the hunting quests like with FF12. Another one that people will be playing years from now. (helps to be a FF fan sidenote)
i bought a 360 when it came out, it died on me and then i went and bought another one, but i had to sell it. Now i have a ps3 and it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better.
