I don't own many BluRay discs but if anyone would like to know anything about the titles in the picture feel free to ask. I'll also have Wyne's World 1 and 2 coming in a week. Yakumo
That's why I got the Nightmare on Elm Street BD collection, it can be had for relatively cheap on UK Amazon and is also region free. (have to agree with part 2 being shit - since when does Freddy have powers in the real world?) What surprised me is how good the image quality is, much better than you'd expect from 20+ year old, relatively low budget horror movies.
man, I wish I knew that. They didn't have the Elm Street Collection at the time on Amazon.com. I mostly buy from Amazon.com though because US and JPN BluRays are the same region plus the US dollar is still worth fuck all compared to the yen so I can get the movies really cheap even after shipping.
I have seen Jaws, and you're right, it does look very nice. Here's my Blu-ray story for the day: I got The Hangover: Unrated (on Blu-ray) for $4 at a thrift store. It's in great condition, except that it had some tape on it, which came off easily. The disc is in nearly perfect condition - it looks like it's never been played. Why you would bring a Blu-ray to a thrift store is beyond me, considering there's a MovieStop a few miles down the road. I had to tell the lady behind the counter several times what I wanted, I said, "The Hangover, to the left there." She picks up a Barbie DVD or something. "No, The Hangover, to the left." She picks up Spiderman 3. "The Hangover." She says, "Oh... The Hangover, with the crazy guys," and finally picks it up. Anyway, the moral of the story is that I got The Hangover for $4, which is a pretty good deal.
that would explain why they didn't have it. Not much point buying the set now though since I already have 2 & 3. I'll wait for the first one to drop in price in one of Amazons under 9.99 dollars sales. I'm a right cheapo. Actually, US BluRay disc boxes piss me off as do US 360 game boxes because they all have parts of the case cut out to "save" on plastic. This results in the cover getting impressed in to the gaps in the plastic plus it looks and feels shit.
http://stores.casetopia.com/StoreFront.bok That'll at least solve the Blu Ray Problem. I'm still looking for half way decent 360 replacement cases.
I bought about 50 brand new360 cases from a guy on Yahoo Auctions. The cases all contained Monster Hunter discs and manuals (mission discs I guess) but they had no value since they were to be given away. So the guy sold them as new cases. I change all my US 360 game cases to these. I just hate those cheap filled with holes cases.
I've bought a bunch of cases, of varying types, from SquareDealOnline. Those caats have never sold me the recycled crap. Here's a link to their 360 cases.
Apocalypse looks amazing ! The only new thing for Blade Runner is the gallery, we were promised that for the previous release but they left it off due to lack of space
Has anyone got Akira on BluRay? What's the video quality like? I own the 2002 dvd release, is it worth upgrading?
I have it, and the picture quality is outstanding, and the audio quality is even better. IMO it's well worth upgrading.
