Could ASSEMbler please let us know who's getting a pressed copy?

I've sent $50USD so I am assuming at the moment...

 

I'm pretty sure that the 1st (up to 100) who donated 50USD will get a pressed copy. Other people who donated, say 25 USD will have to add another 25 USD to get a pressed copy. If they don't they'll just get access to the file to burn on to a CD-R. Those who did not donate will have to wait a few months or however long ASSEMbler sees fit before releasing it on to the public web.

I haven't actually seen a monetary figure attached to the amount requisite to fully pay for a pressed copy. Doesn't mean there isn't a post detailing so beyond the quote of $1100 to press the disc and print the paper professionally.

I'm wondering how much popcorn I'll need for the shit storm that occurs when one of the pressed discs finds its way into torrent form ahead of schedule.

Were that to happen I'm sure it wouldn't take long for the member in question to be tracked down. Of the 100 'originals' issued you'd just have to whittle down which part of the world the initial torrent file was uploaded from and go from there. Bearing in mind that it is to have such a miniscule run anyway I can't see why a member or donator here would risk the inevitable banning that doing such a thing would bring about.

 

That is assuming the IP addy they use to browse the forums and the IP they used to seed/leech are the same. Anyone willing to try it likely is smart enough to foresee such a basic problem. Could start digitally marking everything but that would be taking things a bit far IMO.

The more reputable members wouldn't do it deliberately, at least not without plausible deniability in terms of how it did slip from their hands and onto the net.

Ultimately one has to decide just how much time+energy it is worth to protect exclusivity to this release and what sort of revenge to enact to someone who didn't exactly sign a binding agreement.
