Right, I see it my duty to create a thread about the last in the series of Harry Potter, aptly named, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, or HP7, or as some may call it, the apocalypse.......

I think it's less than 2 hours till the launch of the book here in my parts, though many of you brit's have had your hands on it for several hours.

Call me crazy (and indeed someone will) I quite enjoyed the series, while others such as LOTR failed to capture my imagination (still a good trilogy). Writing wise, it was never the greatest of writings, though i dunno, something about captured me unlike other series... I usually don't read fiction, so perhaps the simplistic nature of the title is what's captured my attention...

i'm rather dissapointed that the series is coming to a close tonight, though it will be interesting to see if the series is still remembered come several decades, will it stand the test of time.

I'm beginning to question how the series will come to an end though, will it pop, fizzle, or crack....i'll surely be left feeling empty though heh. Will voldmort get whats coming too him, or will the forces of evil prevail, or will the magical world cease to exsist.......ponderous questions indeed....

Or maybe its time i stop concerning myself with such trivial little things, and go out and get what "they" call a "life"... i hear there pretty time consuming these days....though it would be amazing if a fictional world such as the magical realm exsisted...

Well, it be time i don my magical cap, and go back to day-dreaming...

Boo! I read the first 3, then I got bored of reading the same story over and over, each time more drawn out than before.

Go read Artemis Fowl, a great kids\teens book series that isn't drawn out to sell to those who 'grew up' with the books as they get older, and its far more original.

    PS. I know who dies!

Whenever I think of JK Rowling I can't help immediately thinking of the word "plagirism". If Harry Potter is your kind of thing then you'd really find the works of C.S. Lewis, J. M. Barrie & J.R.R. Tolkien absolutely amazing. Eventually you'll also agree with the first comment.

I also think the merest mention of Harry Potter and the creation of any kind of related thread deserves a large LOCK and / or an instant ban

I will watch the movies as they are passable, but the sight of an adult reading a Harry Potter fills me with despair. They may stick it in a nice hard back cover, but it's still a kids book.

This household is Potter mad. Two of my nieces that are visiting, their mother and my wife all went and bought copies at Midnight so that they could read them immediately. I've barely read the first book and don't see what all the fuss is about. The Famous Five with wizards.

The Potter hype has got to stop!

I went to see the movie the other night. Yawn-fest

I hate anything Harry Potter and by now I'm sick to the teeth of hearing about the new film and book. Anyone that stands in lines to see that film or get the book can't have a life and I'm sorry to say this unless your doing it for your children thats a different story but you see 40 odd year olds waiting to get the book its really quite sad ><

Hey, I would cheer, if the book series The Stainless Steelrat (by Harry Harrison) became an animated film/movie . Because the stories is better in drawn fascion than the other way around.

hmmm, well this went over slighty better than i previously previous thought, although i expected more death threats and ridicules and fewer ban threats...

..right, on with my always inciteful, and wity comments...:110:

You've all really let me down, I am ashamed of you five, i expected better than that, try to put some more effort into it next time...

Indeed, those are fine pieces, as is some of the works by Wells....though the last books i've read dealt with killing hitler, and Auschwitz, and oddly, robert ballards bismarck....

...correct as you are, those same principles can be applied to many other media outlets aswell, many for example find it silly for adults to stand in line for a new fancy phone, or a popular game, to each their own...

    .....creepy.....

Cheers mate, though i won't get around to thumbing through it until after im done with a few others im reading through...

*End of wity comments....begin flaming :110:

I personally have zero desire to read or watch anything Harry Potter, but I dont hate/despise those that like it. So I am happy for all of those who waited oh so long to get their grubby lil' hands on it! Hope you enjoy.

Its like Pokemon. I hate Pokemon. Yet all my friends are playing it on their DS. I dont auto-hate them.

hmmm I think I have read the first page of the first bloody book, and it said my absolutely nothing. But I admit I have seen a few of the films, and well at least they were "ok". But really the mass hysteria is the worst part of the shebang. And well, I have nothing against Pokemon, because in reality that is a very simple RPG. And all those who stood outside when it was released , gave me the creeps. And I was like "aaaargh this is just fucking not happening, and I am watching the news , damn it !"
    .

The woman became a billionaire on plagiarising a story which is older than the story of Harry Pothead.
And if I remember right, then it is a comic which was before even we ever had heard of Harry Pothead.

This hysteria should be shot into smitherins before anything else happens.

"Oh, well -- I was at Hogwarts meself but I -- er -- got expelled, ter tell yeh the truth. In me third year. They snapped me wang in half an' everything"

"Yes, yes. I thought I'd be seeing you soon. Harry Potter." It wasn't a question. "You have your mother's eyes. It seems only yesterday she was in here herself, buying her first wang. Ten and a quarter inches long, swishy, made of willow. Nice wang for charm work."

A magic wang... this was what Harry had been really looking forward to.

"Your father, on the other hand, favored a mahogany wang. Eleven inches. "
