And? I worked until midnight last night (from 8am) and as I had to get into work at 7am, I decided to have a quick power nap for about 30 minutes and it is already 10am and I am feelikng fine :) Will probably have another power nap this afternoon and then get a good night tonight.

Powernaps do not help me any more.... If i go to sleep and wake up half an hour later i will feel like shit, and if I go to sleep now i will probably exceed a 13-14 hour sleep.
My schedule & biological clock must look like a turd that has been stepped on (if depicted).. so messy..

I'v had sleeping issues since birth. I'm not into powernaps - I'm either awake or I'm not. Sometimes I'm awak for several days at a time. Onc, just once, I went to bed at around 9:30 PM after a very very long session on PlanetSide. I woke up saw the cdlock said 9'O clock. Nothign strange there. Then I realised it was 9 PM... I'd been asleep almost 24 hours!

I've been sleeping like absolute shit recently. Have a single bed but its one where the mattress is on bars and sinks through. Aswell as the lack of it being a double so I'm hunched up slightly which does nothing for my back.

Single bed + being over 6 ft tall = bleh.

For some reason I've slept quite well over the past few weeks. Considering I haven't done that for about a year, it's quite an accomplishment. I can't figure out what I changed.

"Sleep is the brother of Death."

When i was a kid i was afraid sleep sometimes because of that saying. XD

They are brothers, its true. Death is an asshole, and Sleep is my best friend!:love2:

Also, what is a power nap and how is it different from a normal one?

A brief nap after allnighting. For maybe an hour or so. Keeps you going for a few more hours. Somebody has to wake you up.

I get by with around 4-5 hours sleep per night through the week. That's not because I can't sleep for longer but because I prefer to get things done/ have many things to do.

I sometimes spoil myself on a Friday night though and have 7/8 hours

Is it physically possible to sleep for almost 24 hours at a time? Doesn't sound logical to me

    Work out/physical exercise.

You will have no problems going to sleep.

This is also a motivator for lifting ;)

I work night shift (3rd) and I'm on my 2 days off... always screws me up because I adjust for being up in the daytime then go back to work at 11pm and end up being awake 20-24 hours :(

Hell yeah it's possible. When I was younger and living with the 'rents I went to bed on a Friday afternoon and woke up Sunday morning. I had been on a mammoth drinking session the previous two nights though...

I work a strange shift that reeally messes with my sleep pattern. I work two day shifts 6am-6pm and then 2 night shifts 6pm-6am, the day where I change from days to nights is terrible. I'm on my second night shift now, but I couldn't sleep today as my neighbours decided to test their stereos out so I've been awake for around 42 hours now. I'll be out like a shot when I finish my shift tonight!!!

Ugh... aren't single-sized beds normally about 200cm long? So you shouldn't have any problems. I'm 183cm tall and I don't with a "single" bed.

    I sleep fucked up.

I sleep with my head on the very bottom of the pillow, Add this to tossing and turning all night and sometimes sleep walking.
