Me and my girlfriend had to share a single bed in our old house. Not good as I don't sleep well sharing a bed anyway and I'm over 6' 3. Often woke up several times a night, drenched in sweat and having those dreams where you fall and wake up suddenly. Solution: drink. I always sleep well after a few beers. Still, she had it bad too as apparently I snore really badly (all my family do, even my mum) and talk in my sleep. Said another girl's name once too apparently, girlfriend didn't like that. Strangely enough it was a name I've got no association too! Reminds me, once I had a dream about my parent's dog being run over. Dad rings me up a couple of days later and tells me the same dog has been run over, a couple of days previously (ie day/night I had dream). I'm not one for all that psychic rubbish, so that was really, really weird.
I've also had this, sometimes I dream of scenarios when I'm walking round school (seeing people/talking etc) Then a few days later that will happen in a similar fashion.
Ouch. In 2009 I was travelling via taxi to fix a PC. On the way there I had the strangest feling something was wrong with my dog. When I arrived I used the 'phone to ring my mum. She wouldn't tell me what was up. It later turned out to be at the time of the weird feling my mum had agreed to put her to sleep BTW if you ever dream you're having a piss, wake up quick!
Blarg. It's now 3AM, It's just one of those nights... Recently, I've been having some crazy-action dreams but I can't remember them, THat;s only when I do get sleep, which seems rare...
Had a weird one last night, I woke up suddenly at around two or three (maybe later, but it was still dark...) I didn't turn over, or look next to me, I just got up in a hurry... "Shit! The outside door is open!" It gave me the fright of my life! "Must be a burglar!" I thought... Turns out it was my wife smoking a cigarette (because I was probably snoring loudly and woke her up). The weird part is that even though I knew it was her, I still tried to close the door and lock her out. Part of me was still thinking she was some burglar. Tip - whenever you wake up late one night, always look on both sides of the bed to make sure your loved one is there/isn't there. It helps to avoid those moments described above. (It's happened at least once or twice before as well...) Back OT - I have slept for 24 hours straight... A couple of times. Usually recovering from weekends that started on Thursday and finished on Monday morning. I wouldn't say it's 100% sleep though because I would've woken up once or twice, during the 24 hours, and then just dozed off again straight away.
I never remember my dreams. Dunno why. And hence, I've never experienced DejaVu. Mind you, I don't really sleep much - probably around 5 hours a night most of the time, yet I wake totally refreshed each day. Having said that, after a beer I can be in bed for most of the morning...I'm an old fart though so I can't take it like I used to
This week I've had a crippling bout of insomnia (2hrs sleep on Tuesday, 3hrs last night), and incredibly freaky dreams when I've managed to catch some Zs. Last night, I dreamed that I'd renamed myself Prankenstein, and was going around my old school, playing practical jokes on everyone. And the pranks got darker and quite brutal as the dream went on. I was glad to wake up!
thought id raise this thread as its 3:25 and i cant sleep...... i guess its quiet fitting im liserning to faithless-insomnia
Faithless won't put you to sleep. Try a technical manual of something challenging, does the trick for me
Sleepless again for the 3rd time this week... I bet this will kill my schedule later on in my life. I will not be able to live a normal life with a normal job if i continue with this jagged schedule.. :/
I was hoping you would answer. Since you said you are a psychologist in the other thread, is there any advice to fix a jagged schedule? Having a healthy schedule keeps your mind healthy too.
Early to bed, early to rise. I wish I could do that. However, my work schedule changes so drastically from week to week. Some days I'll work 4:15pm-12:45am and then a day later I could open and have to work 4:30am-1pm. It's tough for me to get a steady sleep schedule. I pull all nighters once every few weeks or so...

Yes... I am taking university exams these days. Cannot sleep if im writing the next day. After the exams this becomes a bad habbit and kills my schedule.
Stress is usually the reason we lose sleep that and having too much Caffeine. During my stressful times I took ibuprofin that contained a sleep aid, it worked and I was very well rested. I wouldn't suggest taking it every night though.
Thank you very much for the advice. I dont wanna write in this thread again even though i'm its creator...
