I just mean the more advanced look of it. It became most noticeable in the past couple of seasons I believe. You haven't noticed the more complex shadows, high amounts of detail pumped into every scene, or the more vibrant/gradient style coloring?

It looks good, but I just always prefer the more crude variant. It just works well for cartoons that are solely based around jokes.

I agree, both South Park's and The Simpsons' art style has changed to the worse. I find it less annoying in South Park though, it kind of suits the style (collage) of the show. Only the level of the humor has decreased since season 12, that's what worries me much more than the art style.

The humor being totally out of question since season 15, in terms of the Simpsons I'm more worried about their art style. That computer animated crap does not equal those ideas that had made the Simpsons the great show they've once been. It looks like Futurama sometimes, and while I love Futurama, it does not look good in the Simpsons environment. But the show it horrible anyway, so who cares. I haven't watched it since season 19 or so.

That doesn't need to happen. Seinfeld still airs on cable tv (at least here in Brazil), many years after it's end.

Around here Fox airs Simpsons current season but also re-runs, but somehow it's always from season 12 or later. Simpsons can last forever if they do re-runs of the first seasons.

It was the same in Germany. Sometimes they air seasons 4-10, but most of the time it's something between season 15-20, the bad years.

They don't air seasons 1-3 due to the different art style. Stupid viewers could get confused ("Homers does not has round head *wububu*") by that, which pisses me off. How little respect can someone have for the roots of a great show? And the jokes were much better anyway. Season 15 and up feels like Family Guy, total unrealistic random joke crapsauce.

Honestly this is good news to me. Last episode I ever watched was the tennis one and good lord it was awful (in fact when i read it might be canceled I thought "that's still on?"). Honestly it needs to rest now instead of just beating it into the ground. And even though seinfeld went off the air it actually ended when it was strong.

You never had that sense with seinfeld that it started to loose it's glory during such and such season. Simpsons is like a Jay Leno that refuses to retire and has overstayed their welcome.

Indeed, it was like when they used up all the "normal" situations they started making up new ones that were more ridiculous as time went by; however that was not sensed during each episode, with every action and reaction seemed to be perfectly regular and natural.

Seinfeld is the pinnacle of humor TV shows. We shall not look upon it's like again.

I sure as hell hope not. The show and everyone involved were horrible (some kudos to Jason Alexander's non-Seinfeld work).

Love, love, LOVE Seinfeld. The series is definitely on my to-buy list.

I've never gotten why Seinfeld was so highly rated either, but then I don't have a sense of humor suited to US tastes.

Also, people saying South Park is good at being current, most probably missed Monkey Dust when it was on - that show was down right prescient! Very rare you see a show like it. Though to 'get' it you'll probably have to be British and lived under Blair.

Weekend at Burnsie's was the last good Simpsons episode I've seen. TBH I'm not bothered if it stays or goes.

The wet towel clip is so, so good.

Also, the episode where Bart is on Ritalin is where it started to go downhill. As soon as the animation seems to always feature the characters squinting by raising their lower eyelid.. that marks the show's demise.. I see that in an episode, I turn it off, lol.

Yes, no matter how many times i see that i can't stop laughing. Same happens with the Moe in the lie detector (his face at the end is just priceless!) and the one where Homer chokes Bart. The cracking sound it makes works every single time!
