From what I had heard, Korea already had called dibs on Uruguay, though.

My Korean friend has a brother whose wife is half-Korean half-Uruguayan, and she says the Korean population in Uruguay is huge, and affluent.

That being said, There's this new Uruguayan restaurant close to my house that's delivering Uruguayan style hamburgers, and Chivitos and Choripán and Empanadas.

I used to be very fond of Uruguay, but now I FUCKING LOVE URUGUAY.

    You guys rock.

In Mexico, at least, it means that it uses REALLY good beef, and it's large - and the way the beef is prepared, it really tastes good. Also, it has much better... um... additions, to it.

It's basically a big, Steakhouse quality hamburger with Chimichurri sauce and Mushrooms, it has good beef, good cheese, etc.

    Good stuff.

    Cheap, too.

The dude that runs the place is Uruguayan, so I guess it's very authentic to the way his countrymen prepare beef.

That whole area in South America has AWESOME beef based dishes.

Yeap, there are tons of koreans here, mainly in the seaport area as they all work there or come and go with anything sea-related. There are a lot of korean bars around there also, but it is not a very safe place to be at night (nor at any time of the day actually).

Well, it must be one of the few things we can do right haha. Glad you enjoy that food. Chivito is one of my favorite meals down here, though it's been long since I last had one. You should try Chivito Canadiense with a side of fries, I bet it is on the menu of that restaurant. You should try Fainá as well if they have it.

The mexican dish that reminds me of the chivitos is the Pepitos de Arrachera, I had a lot of those on my visits to Mexico.

Ha! I didn't know what the fuck a Chivito was, so I asked the Uruguayan dude on the phone, and he said "Ah, it's pretty much similar to what you guys in Mexico call Pepitos".

So, cool bit of reciprocity, yes.

I will ask for what you recommend, mate.

Fuck, it seems to me. If some body throws half a lettuce head with that chivito, then I would love one too. Wow Uruguay really does have some awesome beef dishes :)

True, or it is just forgotten the next day.

    Another example of crazy women:
I was just out with the misses and she says she'll buy me a 360 game. So we go into Blockbuster and there is absolutely nothing that interests me in there. I tell her this and that I don't want anything...and she starts having a sulk and gets mad at me. :banghead:

Actually, you can add pretty much anything to a chivito. And Lettuice is one of the "mainstream" additions

There you have it. A classic CHIVITO from one of my favourite restaurants in town: LA PASIVA

This image borders on pornography. It makes me so hungry it's almost arousal.

Chivito is the national sandwich here in Uruguay.

The national DISH is not chivito. It's ASADO.

A full course of ASADO contains sausages, entrails and several different cuts of meat (cow meat)

    Here's a picture

My favourite asado dish is MOLLEJAS and MORCILLA (Gizzard and Black Pudding).
I remember my dad used to make excellent kidneys...

People here also like CHINCHULIN (which is basically the intestines of the animal... nThat's YUCK!)

Uterus meat is great too. Soft and very tender.

Since my dad passed away, I haven't eaten asado or any sort of BBQd meat. He was a true master of the BBQ.

No innards, entrails and no way in hell I am going to eat uterus meat. God damn I feel like I am going to puke. And no fucking way I am going to eat black pudding as a part of any chivito, yeah I know it is not the sweet version I sometimes eat at Christmas with sugar and cinnamon. But still black pudding gives me the willies. When it comes other kinds than the one I have described. I have seen British chefs putting black pudding in so many dishes, that it is sickening. So no thank you to that,
But a straight up non IEUG chivito for me please, with chips/fries thank you and remember to get the remoulade cold. And yes please for a sugar free cola.

K-Panggg: that sentence makes me queasy, because it sounds like a mixture of lesbianism and cannibalism. I know I am taking it out of context, but this just makes me queasy.

    So you won't eat sausages?

Kokoretsi is a great dish. It's made of hearts, kidneys, lungs, etc from a lamb and wrapped with intestines and seasoned. It's a special treat to have at Greek Easter.

Being gay is not wrong, what makes me queasy is the cannibalistic that makes me get weird. And as I said, I knew it was out of context , but innards just makes me queasy. Jesus Christ with a broomstick up his arse. And second of all I still fight for the GLBT/LGBT rights. So being either gay, bi or transsexual/trans gendered is NOT wrong, no matter what some asshole says.

n64coder: I do not eat innards of any kind, as long I am aware of it. But as you said don't I eat sausages ? Of course I eat sausages. and yeah I know in sausages there are loads of what not in them, unless you buy the right ones. Where they use real meat in them.
