iPhone Programmer for a company that produces apps for the BBC.

It's what I do anyway (I have my own company) but will be nice to go to an office, get paid a fixed reliable salary and be able to speak to people who aren't my mum and dad.

Bath is a great city too and not too far away.

I went to uni in bath it was cool... especally by motorbike. Som kids in the suprmarket thought I was batman when I was in my gimp suit lol. What I found out later is that several of my family members wre bombed in the bath blitz literally on the university doorstep and I had others in the area. Considering the place is nowhere near me and I could have gone to anywhere in the country it is sorta strange I ended up there, no?

I remember when i had an interview for an job i considered ideal last year. Somehow though all my experience counted for nothing and then of course there was the "We like your vast programming skills but it's not what we are wanting"................Wait i never knew i have or had vast programming skills before. Sure i did a bit of Visual Basic in college but that was it and even then i don't actually know much if any off it anymore.

I need another job. Trying to get a spot at a bicycle shop as a tech - my good friend works there so maybe I can get shoed-in a little.

Otherwise... I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm really dreadful at keeping jobs that I don't enjoy. I just get depressed and quit. It's stupid as hell.

Had a job interview yesterday but was one of these ones that are split into several parts which i hate as they don't last long so having to travel into edinburgh for something that last's 5 minutes is crap unless i have a reason to stay for longer i.e. meeting sister from her work.

When I was unemployed, I lost many opportunities because of early twenty-something fucktards with half my education that didn't like my clothes or were whiter than I or had a friend that wanted the job.

Fucking worthless retarded elitist illiterate motherfucking cocksucker asshole corrupt sons of bitches, and their fucking retarded shit eating attitudes can suck my dick and lick my arse.

 

Me too, they're supposed to be quick and all, but these days you have to go through three interviews before they consider hiring you. It's even more serious than a real, full-time job.

On a side note, workers are needed as much now as before the stock market crash, but noone wants to hire anyone. In Sweden, which is a small country of roughly 9 million people, people work too much overtime. If they didn't, and the companies had to recruit new people, there'd be 125 000 more jobs.

 

It would be nice to get rid of them but unfortunately, they tend to bring in the qualified candidates. People responding to our job descriptions on the company's website or on Monster.com tend to not have the qualifications we're looking for.

 

In Mexico, this means "are not friends with the recruiter / related to a politician or rich person / do not have nice clothes / are not white"


If these qualifications were really reviewed, simply my English level or my GPA would have sufficed for me to get a job in Hewlett Packard or similar - but unfortunately, due to my actually studying and major depression, I was not a popular fellow in College, so I didn't "network".

Recruiters just called their friends, and held interviews with others just as protocol.

(And yes, I'm afraid to admit, I did get my teaching position because a former boss had a teaching position where I teach today - and they urgently needed an English teacher with my profile)

I hope stuff is better in your country, though.

 

This translates to a school in my City too.
I didn't even bother applying for it because its so fucking corrupt. 90% of people who got in were muslim and the other 10 were of any other religion or nationality. I only know one white person who got in and that was because there Grandad was once a MP.

 

Why is Amazon UK taking soo long to dispatch a item i bought on the 25th. It's in stock being sold by Amazon EU S.a.r.L. not a 3rd party seller so i'd have at least expected it to be dispatched by now.

 

Its not. Its almost exactly as you described it. Knowing someone that's currently employed almost anywhere will get your foot in the door. Roughing it alone means that same door will be locked shut.

Hell, my mom moved to Vegas around a year back, and she has been out of work for at least a year and a half. She applied everywhere you could in Vegas, but only recently got a job around 2 days ago because she knew somebody in that same line of work, same exact company.

Fuck I hate being unemployed... It will be a year now once it hits the 21st. =[ My favorite thing is how I was fired very unfairly from Walmart, with them making it so I can never get hired at any Walmart ever again, just because all the higher ups love feeling like they have "power". Oh well, I suppose like that is every job, but the fact I worked for just barely under 2 years at the highest grossing Walmart in all of CA (and almost the whole world) as a Cart Pusher... I busted my ass. I busted my fucking ass in the Summer heat in the triple degrees when hundreds of thousands would show up on a single day. Or maybe it was pouring rain outside, still busted my ass. I feel so shitty for people who actually work and get treated like dirt...
All I know, is if I am ever a boss or CEO, I am gunna be one nice motherfucker to my employees. Ill be the one abnormality on this fucking planet.:banghead:

Oh yeah, and guess what? Did I get unemployment checks? No, denied. I proved to them I was looking for work, told them about how Walmart back stabbed me, and nope! Denied!
Awesome. They must've called them up and heard how they filed paperwork saying I was banned from working their, and I am sure that persuaded the Unemployment agency.
