http://nichegamer.com/2015/10/cemu-the-worlds-first-wii-u-emulator-is-released/ I did not think modern hardware was even emulateable but here we are with a Wii U emulator. I don't have the beefy hardware to try it nor can I be arsed to even look for game images but Color me intrigued. Last I knew even DS Emulation was spotty on PCs. So.........yes VERY interesting.
I'd like to play Bayonetta 2 at some point and have no interest in buying an actual wii u just for that. I guess full frame rate emulation is still a while off though :-(
Mario Kart 8 isn't already in 1080p? Wait wait wait........the Wii U doesn't have all it's games in 1080p? I just assumed.
I assumed all the wii u games were 1080p too..Pretty sure it was one of the selling points when the console was released. Then again Xbox One titles were all supposed to be 1080p too (ps4 as well maybe, can't be bothered to research if they all are 1080p). Either way, Wii U's will prolly be in bargain bins by the time this emulator gets refined to the point of usable. Still an impressive feat though.
Most PS4 games are in 1080p Not all of them the ones that aren't, aren't by much. Kind of sad to think that there are still consoles that do 720p, mostly because the original xbox was able to do 720p and even 1080i quite easily.
I would try this emulator but I can't find how to rip Wii U ISO's and I can't find any to download either.. hmm EDIT: Nevermind. Found something at least https://gbatemp.net/threads/crediar-discu-a-tool-that-can-extract-wii-u-images.378864/ EDIT2: So that's just for extracting the ISO. Not actually ripping it... back to google!
To be fair, though, the output for 720p and 1080i games on Xbox and PS2 wasn't stellar in number or quality.
Well, that's the thing. I DO know where to look... but all my links are coming up with either very little or nothing. It appears that ripping WiiU ISO's isn't public knowledge yet either, which makes this even harder. Am I going to have to go through some kind of peer to peer sharing or something?
I mean, it's baby steps. No console has perfect emulation (except maybe the PS1, it's about the best). Hell ORIGINAL Xbox emulation is barely farther than this, at least from what I have been able to find.
PS1 emulation is far from perfect. Look at some of the cycle accurate emulators out there like BSNES (or whatever it is called now). OG Xbox emulation is coming along well from what Ive seen.
I hate when people quote the PS2 and Xbox as HD. There is no doubt they were and had some games in HD, but they were FAR from the norm and you could not count on even high profile releases as being in HD. Great consoles and games, though. Also, this Wii U emulation is far from optimized, but it's gonna get there with time. Fun fun fun
My disappointment when some Neo Geo collections and Gradius 3 and 4 did not want to display on my downstairs TV.
