four upper deck ken griffey jr rookie cards for like 9$, i must have been sniffing glue or something. a sega st-v with a pretty good collection of games...the loss hasnt induced any panic attacks yet, but im sure it will. some old zorlac skateboard decks i didnt sell them, but i gave away a crap load of beat up atari and sega systems and games. recently ive been getting into moding and repairing old consoles and now i find myself spending a lot of time rummaging around for parts...if only. i have a lot more regrets about stuff that i didnt buy than i sold.
I regret trading my Odyssey². My uncle gave it to me when i was about 6 years old. It was mounted in an official Magnavox Odyssey² cart/stand with wheels and had about 25 game all in box and the voice add-on. I traded this in 1995 to a schoolmates older sister for "Super Mario All-Stars" for snes. At first I was happy about this. Now looking back I get a lump in my throat. I dont hardly ever get rid of stuff anymore. Too much regret.
I had a mint condition Sega Master system still had the bags, papers, manuals and the box was in mint condition no dents, rips or fading, the controller even had that clear plastic film on it, it hadent even been used. I was new to eBay and I put it on eBay with no reserve with a starting price of 99p because I read a sellers guide which said if you start at a low price you get more bidders. The console sold for £5.50, after shipping, eBay fees, PayPal fees and taxes I got about £3 for it, man was I pissed off. I don't follow any BS sellers guide anymore, now I start the bidding at a price im happy to sell the item for and if I get more than one bidder then that's a bonus, if it does not sell then im happy I didn't just give it away.
My copy of Final Fantasy VII and VIII Black Label for the PSX. Wished I had kept those along with my first playstation. It was SCHP-5000 series (don't remember the exact model) but I had installed a custom clear case and a few other things. It didn't do anything out of the ordinary but I loved that system, it my first console I modded. Wish I still had it . . . -Disjaukifa
I may regret selling my psps and boxed ds tm but i cant play a handheld i need a console. I regret selling my first car it was a 1983 cutlass supreme
I regret selling mine as well, 1990 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg Edition, 4 cylinder, 5 speed. I could drive that car to 6K rpm all day long, go fill the car up and I was getting on average 32 ~ 34 mpg. The car did have some small electrical issues but I miss that car, wish I had never sold it. -Disjaukifa
Golf GTI Catches Fire <-- the strange thing is I hear about the golf catching fire, but never any of the other models . . . -Disjaukifa
My old BBC kit that I let go for £50: My near mint Commodore 8032-SK, sold to a long time friend in the Amiga community via EAB for £100, also my Apple II Europlus with PC emulator card I only got £35 for on eBay EDIT: also my first car, but i think a lot of people wish they still had their first car.
Unlucky buddy I know how you feel but hey look on the bright side at least you got rid of that junk, I'm surprised it even sold (I'm just pulling your leg). What a steal though! The other piece of advice is before selling always check on other items similar to yours and watch how much they go for at the end of the auction then you'll have a clear understanding on the value of your item and how the market is running. You remind me of myself I'm so weird when it comes to condition of an item I'm constantly looking at the box for any signs of marks and rough edges (don't ask) I regret trading my beloved Atari Jaguar US Edition absolutely MINT and when I mean mint I mean as in not a single rough edge or mark on the box heck it even had the 'Jaguar Hologram' sticker carefully peeled off. What did I trade it in for you may ask.......(drums please) a lousy PS2 HDD Adapter and 40GB HDD:banghead: lol.
nothing really worthy just a sentimental thing : My first console, a Xbox, but on the other hand this sale got me into the PS1 and older Era...so maybe it´s had it good side effects that I sold it...
ouch. I still have my original 7/8 and 9 (disc2 is cracked though) T_T ...have my friends chronocross which he hasnt asked for in a year XD ..still have my ps somehwere with purple clear case..took the logo off and put in on my psone...no lid and i took the ports out to use on a serial cable to pc setup lol. one thing i def regret still to this day is selling my copy of sword of vermillion in the case with manual and strategy guide included... *sigh* :/ ....was a great game...but i did end up getting a genesis to master system converter afterwards so i try to use that as an excuse for letting it go...
Selling my Sega CDX for last year. I'd somehow convinced myself that I needed the money, but I didn't really and I see that now. Not exactly something I can just rebuy unless I want to pay through the nose...
Biggest gaming regret was kicking my black SEGA Dreamcast, which I picked up brand new from Fantasy World in Hanley for £150, round the back yard in a fit of temper after some fuckwit visiting family member blew the power board by plugging it directly into a 240v socket instead of using a stepdown whilst I was out at work. I went fucking spare, lol. Had I known then that I could get replacement power boards for £20 obviously things would have been different but back then (2001) I had no idea. I've still got the box and every time I look at it I hate myself for acting like a big soft kid, especially as I was 31/32 at the time. Other regrets are turning down a MIB copies of Final Fantasy III (USA release), Secret of Evermore (again USA) and a copy of Earthbound (also USA) for a tenner each back in late '96 or early '97 when I worked in a games shop in Stoke, swapping my mint copy of Metal Slug for the Neo Geo CD for a copy of Blues Journey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (another impressive fucktard moment if ever there was one) selling my 3DO because my now ex-wife didn't like the controller, giving away roughly 300 HK silver PSX copies, selling my launch JPN PS2 with about 40 titles to stop us from getting evicted back in 2002, selling my Supergun and 3 boards for £45 in '97 because I didn't have ha'penny to wipe my arse with... The list is endless :crying::crying::crying:
Mental note keep an eye on consumed's sales threads, he makes irrational decisions and sells good stuff!!
