You're right.I don't need to tell you what is and isn't necessary. I just felt that I should tell you that it wasn't necessary to say that.

I'm not trying to start stuff with anyone here, just trying to have a friendly debate.

 

He already Private messaged me, telling me it was a joke. A few emoticons would have been nice, but nevertheless, it was a joke. I just got a little too mad, thats it.

 

Why don't you... get both of them?
PS2 has some good exclusive releases, it's really an "acquired taste" in the way that most people here will disagree with me for the point of making a statement but PS2 has Grand Theft Auto games a lot earlier than other consoles, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy though I'm not sure how XII is going to turn out...
Plus it's a lot smaller than the xbox, better looking than the xbox, has optical & dvd out the box (no need for extra leads)
Anyway rather than debating one against the other, get ps2, too =)
But rather than debating, unless you're primarily into japanese games, go for the x-box.

 

Both systems have good games. I really like both of them. But I'm an RPG fanatic, so I tend to like the PS2 a little more because of their genres. It just depends on the type of games you like.
If you like FPS--Get an Xbox
If you like RPGs--Get a PS2
If you like Adventurous games and innovative stuff--Get a Gc
Not sure what the majority of games on the Dreamcast is, though.

Wow, that's a lame assumption. My friend's being modding PSs and PS2s for at least 5 years, if not more. He's a mature student in my university - he's not an idiot. When he mod's the newer PS2s he also adjusts some pot or something relating to the laser to avoid this issue of them burning out.

I never said anything about overheating outside the laser. And as I said before serious damage is mostly caused by scratched discs and DVD-Rs. You're probably OK if you look after your games and aren't a warez-monger, but you can never be so sure. They're still probably better than the earlier models - I don't know a single person with a working 30003 (the first PAL model) any more! The ones around V5 were probably the best, but they're getting on 3 years old now...

I think all PS2s are shit in some way or other...
