His reviews are pretty good also. A bunch of them got removed due to music copyright issues

How do you keep track of what you have? if you want to play a certain game how do you find it if everything is stacked together (and bubble wrapped) ???

I have all of my games in a database with info like how much it was bought for, currency, when, etc.

Each storage room is completely mapped out. The games are in alphabetical order. So, one storage area is say #-F, another is G-R, etc. The bigger shield case games are arranged by type. So say all Sega Model 1/2/3 then they are in alphabetical order. The boards are bubblewrapped in a Japanese way where there is a pocket to hold docs which you can see through the bubblewrap. The vast majority of my games have docs in some form or another. I also make custom laminated labels which I stick to the bubblewrap using double sided tape.

Here is part of my console collection, just Nintendo and Sega on the left side. The rest are in a different area.

Of course. He can also claim whatever he likes but it's proof that people need. Goes the same for signed games or consoles video or photo proof or it's worthless.

So I take it no one knows what he does for a living? I always expect to see him at conventions here and he's even in the same city I am never heard of him before this thread was made.

I thought he mentioned that he went to Comic-con down there and had vids of it.

OzComicCon was a flop. People who pre-paid were denied entry, so who knows would explain why I didn't see him since I couldn't get in.

Well I'm a huge fan of game collectors and especially those who show their collection to the rest. I love seeing their passion as well as dedication. Usually people don't show their collections which for me is saddening. Like the person who own the Guinness record for video games (Michael Thomasson) I think his name is, I tried looking for his videos but couldn't find any. So even if a person gets their facts wrong about something (hey nobody is perfect) I still enjoy seeing the dedication and commitment of the people here as well all the collectors.

So I hope more and more people will show off their collections for the rest of us who can't live this dream. :)

    Here you go:

His collection is nowhere NEAR world record though. He was probably just the only one who raised his hand for the world record... there are plenty of collectors with much more. And much rarer things... I believe he mentioned in an interview that his rarest item is a Bandai Pippin or something. Sigh.

I know what you mean, his collection is nowhere to holding the world record, and I guess he does not own a single arcade game as well. What I meant people should do tour videos, or just tell us the rare items they own, those are fun. This video I had seen, could hardly see anything, it was just people coming in front of the camera and talking. Usually the kind of videos I see on YouTube is someone with a bad camera going around showing of his/her games with music playing in the background. You get to know nothing from these sort of videos.

Well, either way I doubt there are many big surprises in there. The majority of it seems to be standard US PS2/Xbox/DS et cetera... even the spreadsheet said things such as "loose PS2: 43", haha.

He estimates his collections value at $700,000 to $800,000 in interviews - that's $75 on average per game!!! Some people sure have a lot of imagination.

    The bottom line for me:
Having only 10,000 games yet asking Guinness for a world record title and then estimating the worth at almost a million dollars... that sounds lick a dick-move. Especially in a fan scene where there are plenty of collectors with much more, and I'm sure he's very aware of that.

Off topic but the San Diego Comic Con in the states has become insanely crowded. I used to go in the 90s and it was alot of fun with mostly just hardcore fans in attendance. You could show up on a Friday or Saturday and easily get in. Now the show sells out within a few minutes online as soon as tickets go on sale. And they are not even put on sale, you put your name in as a person who wants to go and they pick names Lotto style.

So the solution when you find that the house you just built isn't big enough for your collection I guess is to build another house. I can't imagine many people who would want a giant function room up stairs, it's a great property for him but is it what every buyer is looking for? Only time will tell I guess, here's hoping it was at least a good investment for him.

My arcade collection is probably worth half million USD or more.

I am not really into bragging or showing off like these fellows so I don't make these walkthrough videos or post regularly about them. I like to game quietly in my sanctuary.

I think the only person that is really bragging is the Australian guy. I can't think of any other collectors that show off their cars in their gaming collection videos...

There are many collectors who have more and nobody will ever see their collections - that's also sad, but understandable if they have a busy life and don't want to post just to show their stuff off to complete strangers.

My main concern with Mr. Last Gamer are not his bragging with cars, it's more the lots of inaccurate statements he makes. In his recent video, he admitted that he doesn't even know what his Mega Drive games are called... what kind of a Mega Drive completist is he if he doesn't even know the names??? He then pulled out Madou Monogatari and said "yeah I don't know what that is, what's that, Puyo Puyo, yeah Puyo Puyo Tsuu maybe" - silly. You certainly don't need to be fluent in Japanese to know your games, only passion and brains. And his "complete Saturn collection" bugs me to date, it's nowhere near complete from what I can see :p
