Not rich?!? Err,I'd say he's bloody rich that's for sure. His cars alone are probably worth more than my house with everything in it.

hmm... nerd with lots of money. It will not get much different than that.

We should do something about it. Let's be friends with him so he can have a meaning in his empty life.

He doesn't know what to do with the money. He can be the guy that will put money in CRT production guys!

I don't think his life is empty, he has a family. It's just what he chooses to spend his money on. He has a lot of it, I guess I can say this. I'm glad he's spending it on cars and games (I'd do that personally as well) than drugs and alcohol.

I reckon he's the guy who imports the plastic to make the sticks for the chupachups. That's how he's rich.

I find this to be very true.

BTW I hope I am not the only one who thinks he should have just bought a new house in the first place instead of spending all that time and money on putting a second story in on this current house. You think he would have figured out a second story wouldn't be big enough before he started. :/

I'm glad he's moving to a new house as there is no reason to store $1million worth of supercars outside to store $20k+ of video game stuff inside a garage.

    n.n

I was kidding you know? Yeah it's good that he spends with the same hobbies that most of us have.

But the CRT thing is valid. For preservation purposes. Things are evolving too fast, imo. They should take more years for the 4k displays to be mainstream...
This way we will be stuck with emulation. It's not like the audio department, where no matter if you spend 100k in avalon speakers, it's the same technology as 1k speakers...

They are pushing 4k now because nobody really cared about 3D so they need a new gimmick to shove down our throat.

I agree! Actually, I'm surprised he went through the hassle of rebuilding this house. The property looks tiny and the house is ugly from the outside. He can afford supercars that cost $100,000's, indicating that he must be worth millions of dollars if he can spare that kind of money for toys. If you are worth millions of dollars, why not just buy a villa for 1-2 million to put all your toys in it??

Right now it seems like he's putting cars and games worth $1,500,000 in a $300,000 house. o_O

Also, did you guys see his Knightrider car from the previous video? He said it's the ORIGINAL prop car from the second season of the show and it's got fully functional lights/interior!

I guess the term 'more money than sense' fits in this?

In the gaming room pretty much all those coin ops are very common. The pinball games are mostly brand new meaning post 2005 like that Iron Man and not even from the 90s. In fact the rarest thing he had up there was a Star Wars 3D pinball that was sitting un-assembled in a corner of that room.

Why does he have a 4K resolution television in the living room and a separate screening room? Wouldn't you want to watch films on the 4k television on blu ray? Unless he has a 35mm or 16 mm projector in that screening room for actual film reels (doubt it).

I would too, but not cram everything in a tiny house. I'd buy a fairly large house without the exotic car show, the Lamborghini would be enough for me, instead I'd have a DMC-12 DeLorean.

You wanna see a bunch of steel racks with boards in bubblewrap?

I have several storage places like this filled to the brim. The stacked boards are the ones in metal shield cases.

My wife believes that his videos are just massive trolling either by a TV company or by a guy who designs homes for the wealthy.

I'm guessing he won the lotto.

I can hardly find anything on his name, and he does not seem to spend his money like a man who became wealthy gradually. Who knows...

@Shou - outstanding arcade archive. It seems that you really expanded a lot since the last pictures you posted (I reckon you had about 600 PCBs back then).
Do the bubblewrap colors mean anything, or is that just coincidence? ;)

These photos are actually around a year old. Hard to document it all with photos since it is all in storage rooms like this for the most part. I've expanded to deluxe arcade stuff like gun games, racers, etc so I have almost complete sets of Model 1/2/3 and namco System 21/22/Super 22/23/Super 23 outside of the sports games. I also have probably the most complete wiring documentation for these types of games which I plan to publish in a book.

I guess one meaning you can get out of the colors is where the board potentially originally came from. I have been switching to this newer made for protecting (anti-static, heavy duty) PCBs green bubblewrap as I get time.

Oh, just to note, he banned me from commenting on his channel due to me correcting him on 1 of his favorite games, Forgotten Worlds. He says the version with Lost Worlds is a proto when it is actually the name of the Japanese version.

    My Japanese board as evidence...

Haha, didn't he ban you before or was that another person? Either way, I heard such rumors... isn't it always lovely when people who seek attention with videos try to make themselves seem invincible by deleting inconvenient comments.

Haven't been aware that Forgotten Worlds was called Lost Words though. If that was the Japanese arcade name, how come the Japanese home ports were all called Forgotten Worlds, making it kind of hard to market to the fans of the arcade game?

Lol. You can't expect someone who buys games like confetti that knows background history on them.

Before he culled his videos awhile back, there was a video dedicated to Forgotten Worlds where he discussed every version. He even has a proto PCB that he claims was given him to by Akira Nishitani. You'd think if that was the case he would know lol

I'm guessing because of the Jurassic Park movie or did that come later? Anyway, any half serious gamer would know that Lost Worlds was the Japanese name for the arcade version in Japan. Even a MAME user should know that if they had a full set which lets face it, many do.
