Apparently FIFA 14 not a game we can get that excited about Is Signifiant in that it's going to be the final PS2 game AND it will launch on PS3 and PS4.

I can't think of any other game that has launched on 3 generations.

    Anyone?

Ports aside, seems about right @being first title to hit 3 generations at once (although the Xbox One/PS4 versions will still be out a few months after the initial release in September, for obvious reasons, but I guess that's "acceptable").

Is the PS2 version going to be an NTSC release?

I would like to see the sales figures for this game, my understanding is that Gamestop no longer sold PS2 games, are there any differences between the ports? I am guessing its just an updated roster for the same fifa engines already on those systems.

It's spelled unprecedented. I hate to be a grammar dick, but man... it's the title of your thread. Spell check is your friend.

If you take it that far then just say Tetris and be done with it.

Why the fuck would they bother? Honestly? I hardly know anyone who actively buy PS2 games, seems like a waste of publishing and time :/

I think it may sell well here in Brazil and maybe also in India. I don't think they would release it if there wasn't a market for it somewhere.

I had thoughts about that, but doesn't most buy pirated copies over there?

I can't say for India but as I see here in Brazil there was a change on people's mind about original and pirated games. With the release of the PS3 and Xbox 360 people began buying original games instead of pirated ones. We also got cheaper games and now we even get games on the same day as other countries. PS2 has an big install
base in the country specially because of piracy but now PES and FIFA compete between them and Konami and EA are releasing them cheaper every year. So I think there is a market for FIFA on the PS2, at least here. Besides the PS3 still costs around US$500 here, you can find cheaper ones but they aren't official (they don't have Sony's warranty).

I think they're still selling PS2 games (at least used ones), but they stopped buying them June 1st. Some stores probably cleared them out already.

It's just a roster update really, it happens with sports games at the end every generation. After they stop making new ones they pump out a roster update, sell it at a budget price, and make a bit of cash off it.

One thing, I'm pretty sure FIFA 13 wasn't released on the PS2 in the States, so it might not come across the pond this year. If it did come over, it must have been in very low quantities, as I honestly couldn't find a copy.

I just checked, I couldn't find anything on there pre-order page for the USA that said anything about PS2 nor did the 2013 purchase page. I did notice that they eliminated the Wii U though.

Yeah, EA USA got rid of their PS2 page over a year ago I think.

So PES 2013 is still the last game in the USA.

I agree. Likely wasn't sold here. FIFA 13 for Mexico is complete with ESRB rating and NTSC U/C region code, as with all USA games.

I assume it's for places that are less developed or less advanced, such as places in the middle east and such. Soccer is a big deal in these parts of the world and I'd imagine they haven't gotten much further than the PS2 yet, if they have it'd probably cost you a little sister for an xbox 360.

I'm not sure how'd you go about getting your hands on a copy though, it's unlikely that they'll ship to the US or AUS because the market isn't there. Although Kmart here still sells PS2 games.

well the last PS1 game was Fifa 2004, so it is possible that Fifa 2014 would make it on PS2 as final game to to be release.
