Have you read through tmbinc's set of blog posts? He might be able to help you if you ask nicely.

you need a zero'd pic chip. I have the roms and running, mario requires a Type 3 Chirio to run properly. but it will run even if it doesnt find the correct hardware unlike VS 2004.

Also some games will not boot with the trifore tools, you need the original transfergame.exe to run all games with little issue.

I have a N2 Mobo and run pretty much everything on it

Erm, Mario requires Type 3 TRIFORCE not Chihiro :-D

Also zero pic chip is not required as triforcetools.py tells the triforce not to use DES. you just need some des pic.

    i meant triforce sorry.

last time i looked at the triforce tools, you could put a loop in there so it didnt need a pic at all. I have though come across games that wont boot on triforce tools though and have needed the transfergame.exe

I had trouble with Mario Kart Arcade 2 , Fzero AX , some of the Initial D Games , the truck game, was it king of route 66 or something. And a few of the cart based games, cant totally remember been a while tbh. i run a ps3 and CPS2 in my Cab now, tho i still own a naomi 2 + Dimm

This will sound like a very newbie question i'm sure, so please pardon that, I don't really know much about arcade hardware.

From reading this post i'm guessing its not possible to emulate Mario Kart GP / GP 2? However people are than talking about transfergame.exe and saying they have the games running. I presume this is on real arcade hardware?

I have wanted to play Mario Kart GP / GP 2 for years, but have never seen them in any places that have arcade machines (not that they are many places around here i know of anyway). Then strangely enough two weeks ago I was at a bowling alley and noticed they had Mario Kart GP 2!! So of course I had to have a go on it (too bad i dont live anywhere near this place!)

If it is possible to play either of these games at home I would be interested to know what is required to do so.

These require JVS compatible cabinet with wheel and the works. Then once you have JVS compatible cabinet with all wiring and wheels (Possible to buy some older JVS cabinet with some older driving game and other motherboard). Then you buy Triforce Model Type 3 motherboard and Network DIMM Unit where you can stream the game with transfergame.exe from computer.

If you want something like it cheaper, buy Wii and play Mario Kart Wii :-D

Math are you the ps3 guy? :p Anyways you can mod Dreamcast wheel to JVS :) I found some tutorial by google, is pretty straigh forward. Just MAKE SURE you have original wheel for dreamcast not some other brands.

Mat, I don't think Mario Kart requires any special drive PCB to function. As such you can just wire a analog wheel to the Analog line of a JVS IO.

I've been on the side working on wiring a Logitec wheel to play Ridge Racer 5 arcade hw at home (little more complicated since it requires an extra pcb to handle the force feedback).

Do you have any diagrams ? I am not much of a hardware guy myself and I don't know much about MAPLE to JVS either.

Sorry to derail, haha. So, you're the same Math that everyone cries over because you don't support piracy and don't want to stick your neck out for something petty such as a new CFW version? Sucks to be you man, I feel for you.

Oh yeah, I'd like a link to the tutorials as well.
