There is drama as soon as you start calling someone a poser but lack the evidence to back the claim. No I don't know what you did but I'll look it up. It's been a long while since I stopped messing with nintendo consoles.
so what would all be needed to make dolphin start a triforce game? do I understand it right: triforce IPL -> Segaboot.gcm -> Triforce Game or is there something Im missing?
Depends on which build you're running. Any one of the older builds in the 65XX series of numbers works like a charm and shouldn't give you any problems, bar the occasional slowdown on one or two courses. Otherwise I get rock solid 60fps pretty much everywhere.
I have a bit of a strange question (for those working on the hack). Do you think the reverse is technically feasible? Like modifying a gamecube game to work on a triforce?
maybe connect a GC Drive to the Triforce mainboard. i thought the triforce mainboard should be the same. if the IPL cant load GC Games, i think it is possible to solder a IPL Replacement chip to the mainboard like Viper GC thats only what i think. I dont know if it will work
The PIC key is irrelevant if you disconnect the media board and replace it with a GOD drive, the thing is the media board is required for the system to boot up, so you would have to replace the IPL as well on the GC motherboard. I really fail to see the point though, it'd just be easier to get a gamecube. If you however attempt to send game to the dimm board then you will need to either have it encrypted with the right DES pic key or use a netboot PIC programmed with a 00ed key. You will also have to perform various patches to the binary as well, especially to the infamous DI commands which aren't the same at all. Also it'd have to fit your ram, which means you will most certainly have to trimm the image so that it fits within your available (either 512MB or 1GB) ram space. Still, I fail to see a point of running a gamecube game on a triforce here.
Consider it a curiosity more then anything else. I know it would be easier to just build a Gcn->Jamma harness and run a gcn that way.
does someone have an idea how to patch the binary that a triforce game uses normal DI commands? (to run a triforce game on a normal gamecube)
Wow thats pretty awesome! really hope his work will be released some day. Arcade's dont really exist around here, closest we get is a couple of games in bars, bowling alleys and other such random places. I was actually quite shocked to see Mario Kart GP2 in a bowling alley last year in Dundee, Scotland. I had been wanting to have a go on it for years, needless to say i did and loved the game!
