The Japanese arcade magazine Arcadia have stated that the recent Warashi Naomi shooter will be coming to the Dreamcast in February 2007 ! THis is great news for Dreamcast shooting fans ! It's also quite a surprise since Warashi originally said that they may thing about a DC version which basically sounded like there isn't a chance in hell of a DC version but here it is ! The DC version will go under the title of Trigger Heart Extention and will be available in standard form or special edition packs. Needless to say I'll be doing both versions including the exclusive Sega Direct release as soon as prices are anounced. Yakumo
Great news. I always thought the game looked pretty rough around the edges but with some extra features it might be worth it.. (yeah Im still buying it anyway, naturally ).
Yeah that's good news. I want that SE, where's my preorder? Dreamcast is doing really good these days, I hope that more is coming !
Sweet irony, the 'dead' DC outperforms the 360 and the original XBOX in Japan (Fan-base wise). Long live fans that aren't corrupted by marketing
Are there any releases in the pipeline that aren't side scrolling shumps though? Good news to see games are still seeing releases. Are they officially licensed from Sega?
Awesome news. Yakumo, I trust you'll be taking orders for the Sega Direct version as you have in the past?
Yep, it must be licensed because it will be on a GDROM which Sega own along with Yamaha. Sure will be. As soon as I get news of what will be in the pack and price I'll have the orders up and running. Yakumo
Plenty of unofficial releases, though. Especially from the GOAT Store. Trigger Heart Excellica looks like a piece of shit and doesn't play much better form what I've heard. What a shame it'd be if it does turn out to be the last licensed Dreamcast game when we could have ended on the high note of Under Defeat instead. Probably won't be the last anyway, though. ...word is bondage...
I've played it loads in the arcade and it's not a load of shit! It's better than Radirgy I think. Think of Trizeal with more flashy graphics. THere's nothing super outstanding about the playability but that's not to mean it's a bad game. Yakumo
I'm sold. Seriously, I've been following this game in Arcadia for quite some time....it's got a visual style that appeals to me, plus I loved Trizeal. Expect a pre-order from me when they become available!
The art looks quite interesting. And new shooters on the Dreamcast alwasy make me feel giddy. I say it's awesome we still get software for our old white rectangle these days.
Not to piss on the thread, but the game is pretty mediocre. I guess if you're up for something quirky it can be enjoyed, but if you're a shooting game fan that likes stuff along the lines of Caves recent stuff, you will be sorely let down.
Thats what I mean. It's no Cave shooter but it's still a good blast! There's not much if anything that comes close to Cave these days. I'd say that people who enjoyed Trizeal (which was a pretty good old school shooter) will enjoy this one just as much plus it looks more flashy Yakumo
