I think I'm gonna cry.... http://www.gamecloud.com/omg.wtf?lolz=3578 Not a reliable source I guess, butsounds like it may well be true :crying: :crying: :crying:
I wouldn't believe it just yet.... Wait a few days to see if major game news sites like gamespot will talk about it.
Planet GameCube is reporting it as well, and they're almost always accurate: http://www.planetgamecube.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=11109
I fail to see how something that has never had a release date can be delayed... Industry analysts predicted that there would be a release date in fall of last year. They were wrong. Analysts usually suck. Now nintendo has "delayed" a game that they have never set a date to. Now the horse man himself has set a rough date, if they fail to meet that, then you can say the game has been delayed. If they fail to meet that, you can say that nintendo has completely destroyed any hopes of surviving in this industry.
I have the sensation this title is being delayed for the revo. After all, what's better than a zelda as a launch title?
This is kinda old news. Hell, this was well known before the holidays that Zelda wasn't going to see the light of day until the latter half of 2006. It hasn't been on any release calendars that Nintendo has pushed out and talk of the game being ehanced for the Revo has been going on just as long. It's set to be a dual compatibile title right now. Play it on a GC just fine or play it on a Revo and use the Revo controller. -hl718
Based on some things Reggie said in the newest egm im almost certain that Zelda: TP will have enhancements/extras when played on the Rev. Quote: "The trick will be what makes it special to play on revolution, and to the extent that we could create something like that, boy, wouldn't that be fantastic? Certainly one of the things that I would love to see is something that makes Zelda, when it's played on Revolution, do something magical. And I think that any Nintendo fan would love to see that."
I've heard rumors of delays for a while. Gamestop said it would come on April 4th, 2 days after my B-day, whee! Later, they said, oh it got delayed to June. Me= No!!! I then heard rumors of them waiting till November...I got really upset. I went back to Gamespot and said I heard rumors of a November release, and they said it was still June. Now, that its "coming in Fall", Im really upset. But not surprised. For a game that was *supposed* to come out in November 2005 is coming out in November 2006! A one freaking year delay. I LOATHE delays. Speaking from experience
I say they are going to take the "dual" thing out of the picture, and release it as a revo only game...
i wouldn't be shocked, its a bit late to release it on the gc, though it wouldn't be illogical since rev does support gc games. I think this zelda was just started a bit late. But if this is the cubes last game, god damn what a game to go out on.
Not happening. They might give it some enhancements to work with Revo, but at its heart its a GC title. Think about it, even if it does get delayed untill Revo comes out its BC with GC so A)Revo gets killer launch title (albiet not one programmed to take specific advantage of Revo, but that wont hurt a Zelda title sales) and B)GC gets a killer end of life title that may get rid of some stock thats gathering dust. Those two points equal major sales. Last I've read its basically been confirmed for fall 2006 by Regi. http://www.gamecloud.com/article.php?article_id=3578 "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess would be released "this fall", meaning that the game will be released about a year after it's original announced release date of fall 2005. File-Amie also said that the game would be a Gamecube title and that there were still no plans to turn it into a game for Nintendo's next-gen Revolution console."
A year IS a long time though, a lot can be accomplished in a year, but no matter what, I still cant wait, revolution, gamecube, whatever the hell it comes out on.
Yeah? why? The revo isnt so expected as the fanboy's hype make it look so. In fact I know a couple of nintendo fanboys that already have a GC and dont want the revo. Get TP revo only and quite a big number of consumers with buy the revo just for that game (they bought the N64 for Mario64 anyways). And I dont believe shit from that fat fucker of reggie. Somebody should bust a cap up his ass....
Simple, money. They can make more money on a title that runs on GC and Revo. Lets remember that software sales are what keeps these companies out of the red. I think a lot of people got burned with N64 and Mario, if they'd of known that was going to be one of the best titles ever to hit the system they would have never bought it. They thought it was the shape of things to come not the peak. If Nintendo burns all these GC owners the backlash for Revo would sink it before it launched. I highly doubt they'll aleniate the small but faithful group thats stuck with GC this long. Whats the point of wait for Revo short of using the remote? TP was never designed to take advantage of the remote. Its not like they can juice up the graphics that much, its not that much more powerful than GC.
Really? how? after all is clear nintendo wont sell revo at a loss (like MS and sony do) thus creating a 2nd source of profits. And zelda is one of those series that has a not-too-big audience but yet a pretty loyal one (too loyal for their own damn good) and most of them would complaint first, but then they go to the store for a Revo. And excuse me if I got it wrong but didnt reggie said that TP was going to take advantage from the revo's controller capabilities?
I think it will be sold at less of loss than ps3 or 360, not profit initally(I could be wrong here). Has any console ever launched that hasnt taken a loss short of perhaps Neo Geo and 3DO? I've never seen a quote where Regge flat out said TP would work with Revo's controller, but I could have missed something. Tell you what we can agree to disagree here, and I'll let you know if I like TP on GC when it launches.
It'll be sold at a profit, but a small one. By releasing on the rev you cut off a potential audience of something like 15million +all rev owners who didnt own a cube, compared to just all rev owners. Bad move. Particularly if it can be more than just taking advantage of the revs controller whilst maintaining backward compatibility, like higher res textures etc. Something like the N64 expansion pack - works without, but looks better with it.
I seriously doubt it, since the revo is merely 2 times the power of a GC. If that is the case at $200 then they get quite a profit, but if they sell at $149 or $129 then the profit maybe smaller or inexistant.
