A few units are available, unfortunately, marshall doesnt seems to answer emails...
Why is it so hard to get this kit ?

It seems Marshall doesn't want to do the work involved with selling the kits. GameTech.us seems to be willing to do it for the upsell, if you want one kit for yourself checkout his site he sells the kits occasionally.

One of the reasons I've never bothered getting into HDMI mods for these consoles is because they are so unnecessarily hard to get a hold of. It's much easier and more convenient for me to RGB mod my consoles. Tim has plenty of kits available.

The UltraHDMI mod is great and I totally respect the work that has been done to develop that. But the availability is awful ; I totally agree in that.
My personal aim is to have a complete DIY modding kit for getting a useful HDMI signal out of the N64. Someday:rolleyes:

If gametech is getting the same price I was quoted to stock the UltraHDMI - hes really not making much on that price and he would need to be buying 50+ at a time to get it at its lowest price, which is a lot to lay out for the small return. His pricing is extremely reasonable IMO.

The money he is making I wouldnt even consider to be high enough to account for missing parcels, shipping time, support, people screwing it up and wanting a refund, paypal disputes etc

Don't get me wrong I wasn't bashing him, just pointing out that he seems to be the only reliable source for the kits at the moment. It's a little more expensive, than it would be through Marshall, but he is at least making stock available to people.

You would have to buy 3 min order at $127 each. Gametech at $140 seems a bargain imo

I agree that it's not a bad price mark up, which is why when I couldn't get my hands on an order of 3 from Marshall I went to Gamtech to get the units I needed to mod my friends systems.

Marshall is supposed to sell them on his website.
If he doesn't want, he just have to close his webpage.
I've been waiting for more almost 2 years for a kit, emailed him each time stock was available, I never get any reply.
Even if I bought him a 64drive a few years ago, he seems to have a «private» list for his kits.
I really don't understand why he doesn't build more...

After seeing his work I actually really wonder if he knows how to install a modchip in a PS1. Just sayin'.

Game-Tech.US is the main dealer for them. He just announced that the preorders from October will be shipping soon. Better check on his site for updates for the future.
I bought mine from them about a year ago and haven't installed it yet. Cost was around $145 for the kit.
