I don't want people to get stuck in a situation where they have a failed install and nobody to support it - better to avoid creating such a situation. Tough creating a balance between accountability vs. risk.

Good news is that so far Drakon hasn't got hold of any yet :)

Marshall how can I setup a buy of a few units? Your site has no links to buy and I don't want to go through someone else's site when I can get it from the source.

Drakon doesn't have the skills to install this. He doesn't believe in flux; why spent more money? Wasn't buying the solder sufficient!? :)

It's too bad the email subscription on his site didn't work. I'm just now learning they are available.

What worse is it has been available ,but its still not quite ready yet according to the website, But I can't hate on marshall this is the greatest mod for the n64.; Compared to rgb, its a day and night difference. Marshall put a lot of work and effort into the ultrahdmi and I don't see how it could be any better. This thing is amazing.

The website hasn't been updated in awhile. The kits have been "released" but there have only been a couple small runs of them. So they're "available", but not very available.

Sent Marshall an email about them a few weeks back but never got a response. Wish he would make it a little easier to obtain them or have some news on their status.

Talked to him at MGC. I'm pretty sure he's having them made now and he also is putting final touches on the 64Drive 2.

Good news that another batch is in the works, so hopefully Marshall gets back to Helder so we can get something set up. I know there is always the option of BadAssConsoles (obviously once they get a restock), but I always prefer handling any mods myself.

Hi everyone, sorry to gatecrash this thread, but Marshallh ive been emailing your retroactive.be address, but haven't had a reply, i noticed the 64Drive 2.xx firmware was released and i have been attempting to update my 64drive but haven't had any luck with successfully updating my 64drive. My 64drive is on firmware 1.05 firmware, bootloader 1.01, software menu is on 1.12. I have tried using the easy upgrade 2.02 that was from your retroactive website, but it goes through to the end of the program and looks like its completed only for me to put the 64drive into the n64 and see no change in firmware version? I have only used the tool on 64-bit windows machines, the program sees the 64drive connected, i even tried running the program in compatibility mode as i am using the program on a Windows 10 machine but it's not actually updating the 64drive? Any ideas? Could i manually update it via command prompt on windows 10 64-bit? and how would i accurately go about doing this as the skill/risk is increased.
I'd welcome some advice and opinions on why the easy updater isn't achieving the firmware update on the win 10 x64 machine.
    Please help!

Luckily, I got an UltraHDMI modding kit a few days ago. On the weekend I installed it. And... The soldering part of fitting is really a piece of cake thanks to the flex cable which is greatly designed :) Good job on that!!!
I also have a RGB mod installed in the same console, which has a MAV-NUS. Just have to say that the installation there was more difficult.
However, I can just repeat myself: a more open pulicy for people who wants to fit the mod by themself would be extremely great. To my point of view you don't have to hesitate about 'support' in case of an installation problem. The comunity is the best support one can get.

Awesome news! Thanks for the update borti4938.

Has anyone heard any updated timeframe on the next batch? I know that @BadAssConsoles was reporting no ETA as of May 1st.

I just picked up a PVM for free the other day.(PVM-1343MD) The 64 looks pretty good on my junk S-Video cord. Can't wait to get home and hook up my RGB modded N64.

Is it possible to purchase a UltraHDMI kit, and mod it yourself?
I can only find sellers who installs it for you? :)

No, Marshal is only willing to sell to installers not single individuals.

There has been at least one group buy set up a few years ago, but Helder has been trying to setup something similar here for 6-9mos without any progress.

That being said the kits themselves are in very low supply as even the installers only get small batches every 4-6 months. I have been trying to get one myself, but I am not aware of any installers with stock available at this moment.

    Thank you for the explanation!
Seems like it is quite difficult for end-users to get hold of one these.

It is possible to order now.
I am seriously considering ordering the minimum 3, and sell the other 2 in here :D
