They'll probably charge you to license it, and they'll look your email up on GDNP to make sure you're an Xbox 360 Developer.
Unless you paid the $10K+ or work for a licensed developer with a separate Unity Pro Xbox 360 license, you are not going to get it.
Or try something like "Cheatengine" , always wanted something like this on my xbox, but its hard to get for "Normal" "non-official" guy. Good luck contacting sales. :encouragement:
From what I've heard, the public version doesn't even contain the tools to compile for 360. Not even a cracked version would do you any good, you need a private build of Unity from them. -Doom
Isnt your Visual studio compiling and sending the app/game to your game console? one still needs a XBox sdk along unity or is it possible to use XNA and unity?
Compile what? Unity doesn't come with sources (unless you, you know, buy a license... which this guy obviously didn't). XNA on WIndows should be possible if OP's Unity install has a runtime targeting XNA-on-PC included, but 360 - nope.
I did misread his post actualy I see now, but you are correct rso, no unity sources == no game on xbox. (or unity-objects to be linked with you game-source)
New update I got the new version of unity pro the latest one 4.0.0f7. They changed a few thing around and They seem to show the Wii and PS3 build settings like the Xbox. I looked in the editors folder and did not find the Xbox 360 editor nor did I find any other consoles as well. Only the basic ones like iOS, Android, Windows, Linux, Flash, etc.
Let me be blunt, since you seem to be missing the point: unless you are an authorized/approved developer and paid the additional $10,000+ license fee (for each system and each game), you don't get the Xbox 360, PS3 or Wii output options. Yes, some of the build settings are there, but "normal" developers do not get access to these and Unity will probably just ignore your requests. If you really should be getting these (which I highly doubt), then you need to talk to your direct sales contact.
Yea, thanks mairsil. $10,000 may seem a bit harsh but just the basic unity pro cost $1,500 so I understand where there coming from. I've been taking a look into something much more intresting it's called UniXna: http://www.unixna.com/ It's the process of taking a fully built unity game and converting it to XNA.
Sadly it looks like the project has been discontinued for windows 8 and looks like Microsoft has dropped XNA support as well
Microsoft hasn't dropped XNA Support it's used every day bythousands of indie devs building Xbox Live Games on Xbox and Windows Phone7.0+. The company I believe is making a new product from UniXna and I thinkit's going to be released the ending of this year or very early next year. As for Microsoft, something new I believe is happening, they will probably discontinueXNA within the next year and have a new engine out for indie devs to make itmore easier to develop games on Xbox along with a new license. Nintendo is doing the same thing with the Wii U and giving indie devs dev kits I believe. So don't be surprised if Sony jumps ship with letting people develop on the PSVita with a custom SDK for indie devs, there bleeding money like crazy and could use a new source of income.
