Thomas, until DHL arrange collection from Schwatter, I am not entirely sure what you'd like me to do?

Would this reassure you perhaps? (Copy of email from Melanie James - Parcel2Go.com)

    Good evening,

I am writing as I seem to be unable to get hold of you on the phone. I need copies of the collection manifests left by the driver please.

I have spoken to DHL and they have arranged with Germany to have the parcel collected and shipped straight over to Austria. Dhl Germany will contact your customer for an available time to collect. DHL Uk advised me that they had tracking on the Ireland parcel into Spain and they are currently looking into this for you.

The Germany parcel that you have back will need rebooking for collection if you can call me on 01204 XXXXXX and ask for mel on extension XXX we can have this arranged for you.

    Thanks for your time.

If you do require any further assistance then please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Kindest Regards

Just called Melanie right now. Stephan, DHL Germany will be calling you in the next couple of days. I have NO idea why they never contacted you last week or why it is taking them so long to contact you, but if you are at all concerned then you can get Melanie's number from me and you can call her to verify.

She is booking YOUR parcel today, so DHL will be picking it up today or tomorrow and I'll pass on the NEW tracking number.

They are ultimately responsible and this is the only way the parcel will get to you as I am not expecting Stephan to pay for shipping.

I appreciate your frustrations Thomas, this is the first time in 10 years this has ever happened, but everyone else has accepted that it isn't my fault, that I have indeed sent the items out, that they have arrived at various locations because of an error created by DHL and they are also all just as pissed off, frustrated and annoyed as you are. Nobody is more annoyed and angry about this situation than me as if 1 particular parcel remains missing I stand to lose £1000.

Everyone's parcels are being reorganized, nobody is losing anything and I assure you that if the very worst should happen, I will pay you back.

Please Thomas accept my apology, but I can't be held responsible for the mistakes made by DHL.

You'll get your parcel. Stefan is a genuine guy, admitted that he's received your parcel, immediately contacted me and wrapped it all up securely. He'll ensure DHL pick it up, but it must be at HIS convenience, not ours!

    Thanks!

Stefan, good news! Mel has immediately arranged recollection of your parcel. I've rewrapped it as the old packaging was opened and loose when it arrived here.

I've not got the tracking number (I'll get that from the DHL driver once he picks the parcel up).

However this was sent to my email acc, so she's done it:

    Order update - P2G269XXXXX - Collection Requested‏
    From: XXXXXXX@parcel2go.com
    Sent: 16 November 2009 10:19:42
    To: XXXXXXX@hotmail.co.uk
    Dear XXXXX,

Your order (reference P2G269XXXXX) has been sent to the courier (DHL). We are awaiting their confirmation that the booking is ok and will be processed (currently scheduled for collection on 16/11/2009).

At this stage there is no tracking information (as the order has not been confirmed).

The next stage is either order confirmed or order rejected which generally is within the next 30 minutes but in exceptional circumstances can take as long as 12 hours. If you do not receive this next email within 12 hours please contact me on the email address below.

Totally agree that it has taken them a great deal longer than I initially thought it would. They also told me that the Irish parcel was completely lost, but have traced it to Spain, but nobody has yet established precisely where it is. Also Mr Hard's parcel was to be collected, yet I've had to remind them again today that it is still here!

It's been a time consuming experience and I demanded that it be resolved this week.

I'd be just happy to get parcels to the correct destination, as that is after all what a logistics company is meant to be able to do

DHL picked up German parcel - Schwatter has been sent tracking details.

Now for all the rest! Slllloooowww process, they seem to want to deal with each parcel individually to avoid mix ups!

Now it makes sense why it took them 10 f***ing weeks to ship a parcel from Cologne to Los Angeles

No names mentioned, but can the person asking a 3rd party to send their parcel on to them please refrain from doing so as DHL are handling it and I have worked my arse off to resolve this. Somewhere in the region of 18 hours on the telephone to 4 different countries in the last 3 weeks.

If you leave it in the couriers' hands then NO other money needs to be transferred and everything will arrive free-of-charge. Going behind my back to resolve the issue and asking others to handle their packages really isn't helping.

Please ffs, give me a break and be patient - I know the stuff from my collection was cool, but you can wait another few days surely!

Good to know the whole thing is finally moving.

I guess Parris will deserve a nice rest after all this is sorted.

Thomas, several people are caught up in this, not just you and I might add that Schwatter has been excellent in this. He's been trying to push his local DHL office to resolve this on my behalf to help you out as quickly as possible, but simply moaning every couple of days or going directly to him to persuade him to send you your parcel directly really isn't helpful.

It's not like you are being ripped off!

Nobody will be out of pocket on this, I said it right at the beginning and it took a lot of pushing to even get DHL to accept their responsibility. They even went to the length of suggesting that I had wrongly labelled the parcels myself (when I wasn't even present at the uplift).

They tried therefore to pin it on my partner, who told them that she'd actually let the driver handle all the paperwork himself.

So, it's in the hands of DHL whether you like them or not. ;-)

As for compensation, I doubt whether I will get any at all and if the main parcel goes missing I stand to lose a considerable amount of money. I had to send images to a DHL office in Spain yesterday detailing the exact item and what was inside it. If it's gone, if they cannot trace it (having signed for it in Spain) then I'm £1000 less well off this Christmas.
