I've been offered some deadstock, if I pick them up would people be interested in them @sub $7 each?

I don't know if it would be a waste of time or not to get them.

What do you mean dead stock? Like old never sold stock but otherwise nothing wrong with them? If they work I'd be interested in one at that price.

    Yes, they are gamecube modchips.

They are sort of hard to get, I don't mind picking them all up
but I don't want to be stuck with a giant box of them.
    I'm trying to estimate demand.

I would be interested in buying two if they are $7 each.

Also, just curious if you can get any deals on the Viper or Qoob modchips? (Im not a reseller or anything, just thought it would be good to have one or two of each type if I could find them cheap enough)

Just to be clear, I knew what it is and would buy atleast one. I always used soft mod/hacks for GC but wanted a modchip and never got around to it.

I'd buy one too. I'm less interested in the traditional mod chip uses and more in the homebrew scene, which is something I completely lost track of after the Dreamcast went off the retail market in the States. Other than porting Linux, what did people do with their cubes when they could run their own code?

ASSEMbler, do you know if they're the updated version? (easiest way to tell is by the LED colours, newer chips have an orange LED instead of green, this is when production became cheaper and the GC ended it's shelf life)

I might be interested, I can solder but this may be a bit beyond me so I am undetermined as to weather or not I really want one.

They are supposed to be easy to install as you don't have to remove much to get to the install point, and you don't have to use wires as you can solder it directly to the board as it's intended. Ofcourse if you would ever want to remove it then it's tricky. But I don't see why you would want to remove it. And you always could use wires if you wanted to do so.
