I tried the v-smile controller on a PC already and it didnt do anything At least used as a keyboard. I went to notepad and messed around with all the keys and nothing happened.
Not really - that's for removing the underfill used on BGAs, which is generally a lot less solvent resistant than the stuff used to encapsulate CoB devices. My general experience has been that anything that will attack that CoB encapsulation will also attack the board.
I plan on making a V.Smile - Genesis adapter: http://www.retrode.org/plug-in-adapters/ Go the the bottom of the page
The Mattel Hyperscan uses the same processor as the V-Smile, so instead of trying to get the pinout of those maskroms first, we can do the work on the Hyperscan first, then do our pinout search. I think this method will work to help us research the Sunplus SPG's weird µ'sp [microprocessor/ DSP combination] instrucion set.
has anybody heard from the guy that runs the V-Smile Homebrew website or is the whole idea of making our own games for this system just dead
Hope you guys figure this one out soon. I for one know that there is a market for X-rated V Smile carts just waiting to be tapped.
