Funny you should mention trolling, because your first post could be seen as trolling, maybe because of the over-exxageration, but also because you didn't give any reasons as to WHY you hate Halo. Unless you posted them somewhere waaaay back and thought everyone would remember.

Casual, you're overeacting man. Nobody with a brain hates Halo soley because it's a game made in America. And in the off chance that anyone actually does have that wacky idea in their head, fuck them. Know why I don't like Halo? Becasue I suck at it. I can't last ten seconds in that game online. Seriously though, from watching the news and the like, theres this impression that the entire rest of the world despises the United States and everything in it - that's just not true. There may be a lot of resistance to our governmnet's war and forgien policy in general, but you need to look at it like this: These plottings and machinations you see out in the media, where it looks like everyone out in the world is out to screw us, in reality they're merely the political manuverings between governments to get themselves into the best economic positions, and in some cases military positions in the region. For instance, this whole thing with Iran we're seeing now has very little to do with terrorism, and a whole lot to do with Iran and Isreal jockying to dominate the region. Howeversomuch this includes cozying up to the United States depends on how it benefits them. Just remember what you read and see in the news is only like 10% of the story of what's really going on out there. Hey man, I resent that. G.I. Joe was cool (although it is laughable watching those cartoons today, that's for sure.) Actually, I would say that it's older people who are probably impressed with graphics and such in a game more than young kids rasied in the 32-128 bit era. They don't know what it was like when it was a big deal if your little guy's shirt was a different color than his pants and your whole game was four screens long.
The only way I like Halo online is with dudes I actually know. Then it's a blast, like any game. We used to do the same with Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. I for one am excited to see how the Halo series ends in 10 days.

About the article, honestly I dont care if Sigmund Freud went to Bungie and tried to analyze the idiots who kept dying becos they couldnt understand that you shouldnt fly a warthog using granades:lol: Honestly is funny some people consider Halo militaristic since if you even take a minute or too to read the history of the UNSC you'll see the backstory for the game is a criticism agaist militarized societies. That shows the lack of information most people have about this series. The only thing militaristic I've seen from Halo is the Arms Race videos which BTW werent made by Bungie but by an external marketing dept and produced by no other than Peter Jacksom himself, probably trying to convince studio execs that he deserves the $200 million budget for his vision of a Halo movie. Honestly most games these days barely stand against what others did in their time, but Halo at least story-wise wipes the floor with any other war-game. Contra? give me a fucking break! that game was Rambo in disguise, and whats more pathetic than a game based on a crappy movie which looks like something done by a totalitarist country's propaganda dept? MGS? now there you have an overhyped series. I wont discuss the share amount of stuff you can do on those games, which is simply awesome, but the story? man, sometimes I wonder if they asked a hobo for his CIA stories cuz MGS looks like a crackpot conspiracy theory no matter how you explain it. And the characters, they look like something out of a 70s manga for christ sake! TheEnd? Vamp? Volgin? if you dont get the point then you cant trash Halo. Yeah Halo online sucks becos its full of stupid assholes, but what online game doesnt? counter strike was ruined becos of all the racist insults going on there, and in Starcraft and Warcraft (not WoW) you cant play for a minute without getting buttraped by the zombies that play the game 24/7. I'm no Halo freak, I played the 1st and 2st campaigns just once and multiplayer only once in a PC LAN like 3 years ago. I dont believe is the everest of the FPS genre, fuck I dont believe it fits into the 5 best FPS games of all time, but I do respect the fact that is one of those games where the story and backstory is actually pretty good, and would be more widely respected if it was a movie, a novel or even a comic, than being a game. The only criticism I've is how MS is whoring out the franchise with merchandising, but hey! nintendo does the same with the 2343355 mario party's games, and Sega follows it with all the crappy Sonic games being released. At least MS keeps the quality of the game intact, while every mario or sonic games thats released is even worst than the last one. I do believe bashing Halo is a trend, just like it was a trend to bash the Dreamcast and Sega some years ago...

yes, i think you should become friends again over a delightful game of Super Smash Bros Melee (and soon Brawl) - I d laugh very hard if it sold better than Halo this holiday season PS: I m a disturbingly big Smash fan =)

I liked Halo, Halo 2 not so much, but if nothing else it should be recognized as the game that redefined fps controls on consoles (who wants to play with only 1 analog stick now?).
Mr. Casual just misses a pingpong partner, who can give him some fighting fun. So in reality, he is baiting . But Halo is a game , I am neither fond off, or hate it. I am just not playing the game.
