The problem with HDCP strippers is finding one that will output to HDMI for a decent price. I know the HD Fury is around, but that output to VGA the last I checked.
I'm sure the evil devils of the underworld are out to piss me off. I can't get win 7 64bit to find the video card. The software will install and I'm following the instructions as in the latest PDF manual but no go. Windows can't even see the card. It doesn't show up in the device manager at all. Even before loading in any drivers or software, windows should be able to see the card as some sort of device, right? Is this card dead (it is used but in perfect condidtion) or am I being a right idiot and missing out on something simple? Yakumo
It should see it, as an unknown device of some sort (I rarely installed mine in Windows, so it stayed that way). Check to see if anything shows up in your BIOS settings, and make sure all the PCI-e slots are enabled (Heck, I dont even know if you can disable them Shows how long its been since I had a legitimate Windows PC). Anytime I DID use it in Windows, 64-bit W7 worked perfectly. Try another slot if you can as well, the card only needs a pcie 1x slot, if you have a few different ones.
I only have one of the very small PCI-Express slots on my mother board. All the other PCI slots are of the larger variety. I'll take a look in the Bios settings tk see if the ports are set to on but to be honest they should be. That crappy Chinese card I tried to use showed up. The problem with that was the drivers were awful. Quite a few complaints about that on japanese forums. I've got to go to work now so I'll have a look tonight when I get home.
I have a feeling this card is dead. No matter what I try Win7 doesm't see the card at all. Here's a picture of my PCI settings screen in the Bios. Are theses set up OK? Here are the actual PCI-Express card slots. I've tried the card in the top and bottom slots. It won't fit in the two middle ones. I have noticed that the card has this port on it yet nothing mentions it in the manual. Does this need to be connected? Looks like some sort of mini USB port. Yakumo
My card had no such port, so I dont know whats going on there. Edit: Looks like newer ones have one? I dont know what its for or what it is though. Certainly never noticed it on mine but who knows, maybe it was there. Regardless, I never used it. A quick search shows they were always there, for the creators though. Anyway, everything else looks like it should, so I dont know whats going on there.
Looks like it's dead. I've updated all my drivers and bios and still nothing. I've even deleted all the old drivers for that Chinese card. Windows can see my old video card in the normal PCI slot. It could see the Chinese shit in the PCI-e slot as well (that had crap drivers though so wouldn't work) but it can't see this Intensity Pro at all. I'm going to send it back to the seller for a refund. Man, what a F*ing pain in the arse!
Top slot - PCI-E 16x Middle two slots - vanilla PCI Bottom - PCI-E 1x If its functional, it'll work in both PCI-E slots but no way it'll work in a PCI slot. That little plug is mini-USB but I haven't a clue why its on the card. Maybe for out of case firmware updates? Edit: Yep: http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/124/872570
As I thought. The card must be dead since I tried it in both PCI-E ports and nothing showed up. The pain thing is that the seller says it was tested and woked. They will accept it back but said they will test it again and if it works for them (I can't see that it will) they will just send it back out to me. Maybe I should static it up a bit just to make sure it's bugered. Honestly though, it is dead. Yakumo
HURRAY!!!!! I've finally fixed the video capture card problem. What a pain in the arse. First I bought the DC-HA1 HDMI and analogue capture card It didn't seem to work so I sent it back to the Yahoo Auction seller and bought another from Amazon but again it didn't work. It turns out this is a re-branded piece of Chinese shit. So after two failures I get myself the very nice Blackmagic card. It turned up Dead on arrival. i tried and tried to get it working but Windows just wouldn't find it. So today I get this! Capture X from SKY-HD, the same company behind the SKY-HD set top boxes used in the UK and Japan. This card WORKS!!!! No messing about. Straight in and working within 5 minutes. It can do HDMI, Component, Composite and S-Video. It can also do real 3D as used by modern TVs as well as the red and blue lens type. I've only had a quick go with the card but it does seem very well made and the software for it is very easy to use. Here's a quick screen grab I did of vampire Hunter for the Saturn with the card's default settings as analogue 480i. I forgot to de-interlace the image though Retro Core is coming back! Yakumo
I did a bit of 360 today but It will only capture up to 1080i Still looks f*ing fantastic though. It uses it's own custom AVI lossless codecs so file sizes are pretty big but the quality is second to none. You can choose between the Sky - HD codec which they use in their HD set top boxes or the Capture Codec (The company behind the card I guess). Both look excelent although the SKY codec gives slighly small files sizes. You can use the built in MPEG 2 codecs as well (BlueRay standard) but working with AVI is easier. Yakumo
I thought MPEG 2 was DVD standard (even though some early BluRay movies used it, but moved to VC-1 or MPEG-4 AVC/H.264)...
I don't really know. I thought HD-DVD and Blue Ray were both MPEG 2. If I use the AVI option it use H264 lossless codec but when using MPEG it gives many options from Video CD all the way up to Blue Ray.
