Final Fantasy 5 on the GBA is one of the biggest selling games this week in Japan. My have to get that myself with a nice Famicom style micro. Yakumo
I'd gladly pay a 50$US for a GBAmicro Famicom Edition - Too bad I wouldn't play with it in fear of ruining its shiny finish. Still, if anyone knows of such item at such a price.. PM me asap (or you know..or else)
Whoa, didn't knew that! I was under the impression that Nintendo did not release a link cable to connect the GB micro to the GC. And Nights looks great, guess I'll have to find Billy Hatcher!
You are indeed correct Garlo Nintendo never officially released a link cable. However some very clever person worked out how to hack a gb micro link cable & a gba to gc link cable together. He was selling them a while back, sadly they are now long gone but he listed instructions on how to make it here..... http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79849 The cable i got works perfectly with every link game i have tried, its a shame that even a 3rd party one didnt come out for it. Im guessing due to the limited appeal of the micro that nintendo didnt want to risk making a cable that wouldnt sell. Heres a few pics of pacman vs running on my micro
The Micro screen looks fantastic in those pics. I've been playing FF: Dawn of Souls recently (for GBA) on my DS, but I ran out of batteries last night. I fired up the GBA SP and was *amazed* how much of a downgrade the screen is from the DS. (I have a DSPhat). I'll buy a Micro at some point just to have one, I suppose. I still want a Game Boy Light....but eBay prices have gotten RIDICULOUS ($200!!)
I got a headache from the Micro. Seriously I couldn't play longer than five minutes with it. The screen size was just too small for that resolution.
I just bought a Micro today and....ZOMG. It is a very slick little piece of hardware. I wasn't prepared for how thin it was going to be at all, as I'd only ever seen pictures. I got it for $41.95 brand new at COMPUSA. It was down from $100 to $50 on clearance, and then another $10 off due to "red tag". Lots of stores still have them, so go here, look up your store, and then go check it out: http://www.compusa.com/locations/default.asp?type=&ref=cj Make sure to ask an employee to look up the SKU. They'll tell you that if it's not on the floor, they don't have it, but this is 100% bullshit. I had them get mine out of the back room for me. I'll be playing FF Dawn of Souls on it tonight, w00t.
I remembered this thread today, while reading Club Nintendo, the mexican equivalent of Nintendo Power. They have an interview with Reggie that took place a few weeks before the launch of the Wii, and Reggie mentions that this Thanksgiving was the last for the Micro in America. So I guess if you want one go and do it like WanganRunner and search for clearence offers. Funny that the way Reggie mentions the fact about the Micro seems to imply that the Micro is doing well in other regions.
I got a micro last week at a discount sale for 49 euro's It's a superb little system for on the go as i don't want to carry my ds lite around in the train. The micro is much more discrete and the screen quality is amazing even when your playing something text intense it still remains readable on the small screen.
i m outraged not being able to find a micro for the right price. Even here in liverpool, new ones go for 99 pounds. I say bollocks to that
They cost about 30 pounds here which is close to 50 USD I guess. Still waiting for them to drop more before I pick one up. Yakumo
The Micro's are neat and tempting if cheap enough but the GBASP is superior as it actually is compatible with GB and GBC games. As I recall, the Micro is not. That and it has a bigger screen, flips closed. I'm sure it's neat that its so small, but I can only stand to look at a screen that's so small and it's beyond the limit. As I recall the screen size is as big as an actual GBA cartridge at most. That's ridiculus. The GB Pocket has a bigger screen than that. ;p
