Does this guy ever post here? Because something tells me that the only way to get all those games is to pass thru assembler ;)

Check it out, it deserves it (IMOO).

What's so incredible about it? He has a lot of loose games for common systems? You can easily find collections two, three, four, five, etc times bigger than that on Digital Press, and they have pictures.

I think there is some kind of misconception going on with what ASSEMbler is all about. It's not about collecting as many games for as many common systems as you can. If it were, then this would be a "Classic Collecting/Gaming" board. It's not. It's about the rare and the obscure. The unreleased. The prototypes and concept works. The developer's tools. It's about stuff that's generally hard to find. I would be more impressed if I saw a boxed/mint complete Halcyon set (which would only contain TWO games) than I am with the collection in the link you posted.

Wh00t. Ok. I don't want to disturb / irritate / denigrate anyone now, just to be sure that you know that.

Let me take one step back then. I must admit, i am not such a "monster" collector, so i dont have the minimal idea of how big a collection has to be to reach at least the "good" appelative. So sorry, gents, my fault, i apologize to you if you felt downgraded. I didnt want to downgrade anyone, or denigrate the time they spent looking for the XYZ game that only got out in one copy. Heck, post a picture and I'll in the first line of those who "WOW" at it.

Second. You are 100% right saying that it belongs to the dark side of even the most unknown and obscure world of gaming. But prolly i mischieved it. So sorry again. I'll keep myself off in future from posting "useless" things like that.

    Cheers,
    Kammedo

I probably have more games than that, anyway as Alien Workshop said its not about the size. A good collection for me is one with focus and dedication, and preferably NTSC-J.

first time i agree with alienworkshop, i find it pointless to collect every single game for a console and have a 1:4 ratio of good games, is fucking pointless and just takes space, i just buy the good games.

Same here, I buy the good games (or ones that i deem worth of having, like ET :p). I dunno what I would do with a crazy amount of games, i have no space as it is

I agree as well. Games are meant to be played. Thus, games not worth playing are not worth collecting either. Sure, he does have a lot of common stuff, but it's his collection and it's a good one anyway. It's not meant to be impressive. He says he's a loose cannon, after all.
I like this guy's collection, though. He hasn't forgotten the classics, like the 7800 or ColecoVision.
    1,000 is still impressive.

the only thing i disagree with AWS right now is how he passed is message. It's not because you can correct someone that you need to be arsh. Be a bit more friendly next time, duuude. ;)

you seemed irritated by our friend's post, or something. Well, that's just how i saw it anyway..

While numbers are quite impressive, the lack of boxes for pretty much everything ruin it. I'm far more happy with my meager ~40 MD collection than I would be with over 100 games without box or instructions. I'm still peeved for having four games (two of my favourites, to add to injury) in a makeshift cart holder, let alone having a complete collection.

The only I guess good things in my collection are:

    12 Sega Dreamcast GD-R discs
    A Sega Katana GD-Writer
    Suikoden II NTSC-U/C

I used to be a hardcore ROMaholic, but I've changed my ways...

    http://users.ign.com/collection/hhogan1?objType=1 That's mine

Doesn't include over 1000 copies of various Genesis games, 5 full arcade systems, and all the development items I've collected, and ASSEMbler can attest to the size of that ever growing segment ;)
