I've been a bit too negative lately, Typically I'm anti Nintendo BUT they have my attention with the NX rumors. I'm not so much interested in the NX as I am interested in what I want the thing to be. - 3rd party support with some Nintendo tie in with most 3rd party games. - Powerful - NO stupid gimmicks - A controller that doesn't suck. There hasn't been a good standard Nintendo controller since the SNES. - Region free - A launch line up that includes several long dormant Nintendo IPs - NO Censorship That's pretty much all I want from it. I like that it's supposedly using Carts. That's what I want from it. I have no idea what it's supposed to be or what it will be or what it'll be called. I just want good games and none of that Nintendo bullshit we've gotten from them since the Gamecube.
Wouldn't the use of carts limit the overall file size of the game? Even though it was the past all I keep thinking of is the N64 and how the use of carts held them back because the max that would fit on a cart was 64mb.
Not any more flash media has gotten pretty cheap and the load times will be faster than from an optical disc. It's possible games could be even larger than what a 4k Blu Ray can hold. INPUT....INPUT
Practical, with good online portal. What it really is: Impractical and outdated, with duplicated functions from far better and superior devices, with terrible online portal. Nintendo is simply in a death spiral and will eventually become Sega; unable to finance their own hardware and change over to software far too late.
Any kind of flash or ROM media has a cost-per-bit that several orders of magnitude larger than an optical disc. My own feeling is that if this system does use "cartridges" they are simply going to be tiny ROMs with a license on them and the actual game will be downloaded.
I just want it to come with a controller by default. No TV remote, no magic wand, no iPad. Just a thing that I can hold in my hands comfortably and that has buttons and a good analog stick and a good dpad. Then I buy the new Zelda and all is fine. But to be honest I kinda fear it to be a combination of the Virtual Boy with the Kinect camera controlled by Rockband guitars.
More games, less gimmicks I agree with TriMesh, i would think it would be possible like the Amiibo's, you get a token (could be a cart, figure etc.) and the game is downloaded to play. NO VR! - its the new Kinect and another crappy gimmick More Mario!
I want the NX to be good too, but you're expecting too much from the Nintendo we know. Especially the last bit. Nintendo of America would never release certain games without censorship.
I'm hearing the NX is going to be a beast https://mynintendonews.com/2015/10/...x-likely-more-powerful-than-ps4-and-xbox-one/ http://www.vg247.com/2016/06/20/cd-projekt-red-says-nx-will-be-fantastic/
Your second link: But lets be fair, the Xbox one and PS4 were pretty low end when they came out. The NX is coming out like 3 years after that.... you should think it would be more powerful
Well I think when he says new XBOX he means the PC they're releasing next year. http://www.techtimes.com/articles/1...amount-in-cpu-gpu-and-memory-more-details.htm Contradicting that is this http://www.gamepur.com/news/22792-i...-good-claims-more-powerful-ps4-incorrect.html UGH NIntendo will you just reveal the thing already?
Just have to wait and see. If its a portable that is as powerful as current gen consoles and has some sort of dock for home use - I would be into that. I stay away in hotels quite a lot for work, a handheld with console level graphics would be awesome.
That would be great. Seems to be what the rumors are suggesting. I am getting impateint. The Rumors are positive. I miss playing Nintendo games and I've been wanting to play a good Mario for a while.
Honestly? I'd be happy with a more powerful Wii U. I know that won't be the most popular opinion, but I find the touch screen adds a lot to my gaming experience. For example: Legend of Zelda, Deus Ex, Batman: Using the game pad for inventory management/tool selection is incredibly convenient. In fact, I have zero interest in playing the other Arkham games (and the latest Deus Ex) because that convenience isn't there. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE: Game pad really adds to the immersion since the game pad is treated as Itsuki's cellphone. Other games did some neat things too such as ZombiU. Nintendo Land, Star Fox Guard, Splatoon, Super Mario Maker: The overall concept of these games would be difficult to execute without the gamepad (they could be done, but the games would become overly cumbersome IMO). Would have loved to have seen a proper 2D Metroid that used the gamepad for the map + inventory management (which is how the Castlevania games on the DS treat the second screen). Also, I really hate how the NX seems to have pushed LoZ: Breath of the Wild away from using the gamepad functionality. Having a map or inventory management on the second screen would've pushed me to get the Wii U version over the NX version.
One of the many problems I had with the Wii U was just how large the gamepad is. When I played on a demo unit it just felt too large and clunky. If they made something say, Vita size I'd probably have one. Maybe that functionality won't completely go away on NX if it's console Portable hybrid. With the Portable acting as Screen 2. The WII U was just a console version of the DS. All they needed to do was call it something like TVS and It might've done better.
I've always found the Wii U controller comfortable. Then again, I'm 6'6" and have fairly large hands, and I never had a problem with the Jaguar controller either, so I'm likely in the minority. (Amusingly, I borderline cannot use a Playstation controller because my thumbs get tangled up on the analog sticks).
