So what fighting games are you playing? No more arcades by me, so I have to wait for KOFXI on home sys...
Guilty Gear XX Slash. Top shelf stuff. I'm currently really into Order Sol, partly because he is bottom tier (by a long way!) and also because he seems to have so many ways to juggle. When I go to Japan this summer I am going to tackle as many Sol players with Order Sol as possible, it will be an up-hill struggle! Also visually Order Sol looks the shit, I love the pauses between his level 3 supers and his aircombos really convery a sense of his power. However certain characters can toast him with no trouble at all, Cliff in particular can poke him to death without batting an eyelid. I am also rediscovering Slayer now that he is not so over-powered and clearly not top-tier anymore. However his forward HS roman cancel still feels like cheating... Oh and ABA is so so, she is brilliant till your opponent figures out how to block her basic launcher, then it is an uphill struggle to get a combo going while your energy saps away. Other than that I am putting in some serious time with Neogeo battle coliseum, again for this summer. I want to stich up as many Mr Big users as humanly possible. I am currently using K' as all his timings seem to have been changed since Neowave. Oh and I still don't have a solid stategy for Orochi (if I meet him), he always takes out a character with about half health in one nasty combo, pisses me right off. At uni I only seem to play 2D shooters and fighters. (Then when in vacation I do 97 percent RPG.) And I can always be found playing a bit of Melty Blood REact. This afternoon I played about 50 Ciel Vs Chaos matches in a row. For the record I was using Chaos and won at least 99 percent of the time. Then I switched to random characters while my mate stayed on Ciel and the we evened out a bit. (cept when I got lucky - I am banned from using Warakia...) Next is Samurai Spirits Tenkaichikenkyakuden. I had a play on it for a while and it looks good but even on level 8 it did not have any challenge at all really. Also I don't know anyone who plays in Oxford, so I might have to train an opponent!
1. Street Fighter Zero/Alpha 2 + 3 + Zero 2 Alpha 2. SFIII Third Strike 3. Garou 4. SamSho IV 5. Last Blade 1+2 6. Rise of the Robots
Last two I've played were Dead or Alive 4 for 360 and Project Justice for Dreamcast. I've been itching to play Marvel vs. Capcom 2, so I'll probably dig that one out in the next few days.
Picked up Soul Calibur 3 a few days ago and have gone insane with the character creator... Namco did not take necessary precaution when they published this game that enables you to create a slightly queerly dressed moron, with the face of David Bowie, intimidatingly approaching his enemy like a rapist while shouting "I will dissect you slowly" while using tambourins as weapon of choice... Anyway, as soon as I stop enjoying the character creator, it's probably back to Virtua Fighter 4 or some random 2D Fighter collection (SNK or Capcom) for all of my fighter needs.
whoa, anyway been playing street fighter 3rd strick and king of fighters collection as well as fighting vipers on saturn. Today i tried out the street fighter zero/alpha collection and must say its a bit diffcult to tell if its really arcade perfect, since some frames seem missing.
That sounds fun!!! Last few fighters I played were TMNT Tournament Fighters on Genesis, Tekken 4, all the Dead or Alives but 4 (which I really want to play) and KOF 99. I'd say my favorite fighter is still DOA, and favorite 2D is KOF, but I really wan tto play Guilty Gear. It seems GG 2 didn't come out for DC here, so I'll be forced to play the PS2 one...
