Sega Saturn definitely, one of my favorite game series (Panzer Dragoon) is pretty focused there, plus all the fantastic 2D shooters and quite a few excellent fighters, plus Croc: Legend of the Gobbos was a great title. NiGHTS Into Dreams is also a really nice title, playable and fun eye-candy, especially with RGB video.

I was really torn between this and PS2, PS2 because of Metal Gear Solid 2/3 but, Saturn has way more games I enjoy more than the PS2's library.

Genesis. While the 360 was close, I have the feeling that if I were on a desert island, I couldn't get internet, which makes a lot of the games less fun.

The Genesis has the best 2D controller, by far, and some of the best games ever (I could play Sonics 1-Knuckles repeatedly until I die, and NHL 95 is the best sports game to have ever existed, SFII and the MK games are great, as well as some lesser known games (the thing has the best SHMUPS available, Ristar, Comix Zone, Vectorman, the list goes on and on). Oh, and NBA Hang Time is an underappreciated classic.

Plus, the fact that my console I got used 19 years ago still fires up like a charm isn't a bad thing at all (I know, perfect world and all).

Playstation. Reading all this and it seems that the best console has to be an out-to-date model.

My vote is for snes, like others I enjoy 2D games the most. Games like Castlevania IV, Turtles in time, Mega Man X, Hagane, Metal Warriors, Super mario world, Blazeon, Street Fighter II, Link to the past and Contra III. Can't forget Final Fantasy and Earthbound. Also the Yu Yu Hakusho games. The Super famicom or Super Nintendo gets my vote because I like it so much and it's something I still enjoy playing and collecting for. I like all the consoles here but I would choose a nintendo.

I have to go with the Playstation. It was the console that made me become a true gamer. Nostalgia aside, it has a plethora of different types of games. Tons of great RPGs, fighting games and shooters. Some of my favorite games like vanguard bandits, star ocean, castlevania SOTN and street fighter alpha 3 are on the console.

I kinda think the SNES is a bit overrated. It's a good console, and it has some pretty good games, but I think it gets more credit than it deserves - and personally, I'll always prefer the Genesis/MD.

SNES with Dreamcast a close second. Nintendo's 16-bit machine has an amazing library of games that hold up well today.

^ This! I can't agree more enough with your post lol it's about time the system notices being a bit TOO overrated and as such! though the Super Famicom is actually a teeney bit underrated surprisingly to my knowledge.
