Thought this would be a fun idea for a thread - what is the one accomplishment that you can say is your greatest moment in video gaming?

Just had mine tonight..... finished a Zelda:Ocarina of Time speed run in 25:17. Its quite a ways off from the world record (which is 18:10 currently), but still, is probably one of the most difficult and rewarding things i have done in a game.

If I had to pick a close second, it would be having the #3 ranked time for game completion on Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on XBLA for a while.

Video of my Zelda:OoT run: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19kOgXNdD8c

posted about it in another thread a while ago.
NOTHING, and i mean, NOTHING gave me the sense of reward and accomplishment than completing Z-Out with ONE freaking life.
christ, this is a game i've completed MANY times as a spotty ugly late teenager, but NEVER in one life.
a recent accomplishment. (and that's the pinnacle, don't seem to get that 'buzz' on ps2, DC, xbox, ngc, etc, just amiga games. they seem to challenge me more) :witless:

Good question! One of my top 3 would be. Some time ago, but beating F Zero on the SNES on the Master difficulty.

Playing the entire series of uncharted for the first time (last month) and finishing the 3games +vita version within 2weeks. Damn I won't touch the games again until maybe after 5years? Almost no replayability but the storyline is solid! =)

This. Its not specially hard but its sooooo boring to search both rocket pieces in every single level. It was a patience test.

And i have finished TAD Coporation's Blood Bros like three hundred times in my childhood.

I kinda want to see just how bad Bubsy 3D is, but I haven't found an obscenely cheap copy.

I guess the only achievement I can think of is when I pitched a perfect season (162 perfect games in a row) in World Series Baseball on the Genesis.

Despite playing games forever, I'm not particularly great at them.

I would say single handedly beating 4 players ( 4v1 ) in a online Starcraft match. And no they were not all complete noob.

I would say Raiden IV 1cc was pretty good too, for me.

I suck at video games, never actually beaten an action game before the PS3. Well... I did finish Yakuza 1 and 2 and went through Master Komaki's training. So that's the best I can muster.

Oh, also one time I beat a couple levels of the TMNT arcade game playing as 2 turtles simultaneously.

    That was...interesting.

i rmemeber being pretty proud of myself at the time i leveled aerith to 99 in final fantasy 7 (i just wanted to test her last limit break lol)

aside that propably beating R-type III on snes or guardian Legend on NES. Hard Games are hard..

i did beat Battletoads at my younger days, and thoguht it's a worth ofmention since the game is generally regarded as being insanely difficult, but i don't personally regard myself of thingking anything of it back then, aside the same nice feeling i got for beating any other NES game.

Bubsy 3D is not THAT bad. But it is indeed boring. Dreadfully boring. The gameplay mechanics aren't abysmal, its definitely playable. Yet the graphics are painfully simple. The game gives you next to no motivation to progress past the first level. I actually liked Bubsy 1 & 2. I remember dumping a decent bit of time into B2.

My greatest accomplishment will come when I finish all of DOOM 3 plus expansions on Nightmare. Its one of my WIP. Also! Forgot to mention the first time I did an Ultra Combo on Killer Instinct.

It just seems that all the reviews and stuff I see about it take for granted that the game is terrible. I'm interested in checking it out.

Its not terrible, it was just terrible outdated when it came out.

It was released in 1996 (1997 in Europe). In 1995 there were already games like Gex, Rayman, Scrap Panic or Jumping Flash!, and before Bubsy 3D, in 1996, Crash Bandicoot, Jumping Flash! 2 or Pandemonium.

Not to mention that Super Mario 64, the template for 3D platformers, came out one month prior to Bubsy 3D in the US. Very similar to the situation with an equally un-fun platformer, Wild Woody. Donkey Kong Country had already been out, so why would you buy Wild Woody?
