I've been speed running SM for quite a bit now, & I highly recommend it, as it is challenging & rewarding. Best time for me is a low 54 minutes. Getting your first sub hour is truly exhilarating, but you better master your control of Samus first if you really wanna speed run it... Any tiny mistake 20 minutes in is pretty painful.

My proudest accomplishment? Probably F-Zero GX. "Beating" Roller Coaster Tycoon was pretty painful, too. Can't think of much else at the moment....

Oh, i used to speed run SM and SotN years ago, im trying to figure out which one im gonna get back into first ;) I was a pretty avid speed runner for years, and kinda got out of it around 2004-ish. My best Any% time in SM (this is going by the in game timer at the end of the game, not real time (timing SM runs in real time is a rather recent development, as im sure you are aware) was 38:xx. At the time, the world record was 32:xx (cant remember exact time, and again this is the in-game timer, not real time), so i guess i had a decent time, for that day and age, lol.

Zelda : OoT is the first game ive speed ran since them days, and now that i have a respectable time (world record is 18:10, my time is 22:38, so i guess its decent XD ), i wanna get back into SM or SotN, kinda curious to see how much routes and strats have changed for both of those in the past 10 years.

i also agree, beating all the scenarios in RCT was extremely painful, lol. I love that game (love the whole rct series actually), but i hate being "told" how to create and build. I much more enjoy the creative freedom custom scenarios and (rct3 only) sandbox mode provided.

EDIT: Now its bugging me... i wonder what my 38:44 run in super metroid would have been in real time. Oh well, just gotta beat that time so i never have to worry about it again XD
