It's the opposite down here. A 2nd hand Peugeot like mine costs something like 19.000 , 20.000 Reais. A 1998 BMW 318 Compact i saw last week was on sale for 28.000 Reais. Plus insurance is higher for that BMW. Not to mention maintenance costs, since the BMW's are imported, while the Peugeot 206 is manufactured here.
Rotary Power Guess I'm the only rotary owner here heh I have multiple RX-7s. Here's some pics of a couple of them: http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=86823 http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=86818 http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=86817 The blue one is an '88 Mazda RX-7 TurboII. Sitting at around 400-410rwhp @ 20psi of boost. In a car that weighs 2650lbs. I eat domestics for breakfast.
Re: Rotary Power Gotta love the RX-7. I love to drive your car in GT3 :smt023 Too bad Mazda is not avaiable in Brazil anymore (They sold the 626, the miata and the MX3 on the early 90's, but the Mazda group decided to stop selling cars here. I don't know why). You can buy RX-7 and RX-8, but only through individual importers, making the price of the car raise a lot :Hangman:
Importing a car is like buying a car for the price of two. Also, I found out that there are hardly any insurance companies in the USA that won't take you if you drive an imported car because its a foreign car.,
not so fast zeta-gouki course both of them are in rotary heaven now :smt022 now im driving a 95 passat glx vr6 got a few goodies added to it, not quite the corrado/golf gti i should have in another month or so
Re: Picture of my oldcar Hehehe. Turbo kit would be nice, just have to work out the handling. Straight lines are no fun, atleast for me. ^_^_^
current ride.... My current vehicle is a 1997 Civic EX. Nothing great, personally I wish I had the cash to get something else, but it gets me around, is good on gas and will last forever. The Evo VIII is nice, and yes you can't beat the Japanese versions. It's not the fastest car, but you throw a few upgrades at it and you have one sweet ride. My personal fav is the Evo IV, it's older but I think it's the best looking one. A few of my dream cars: 1970 Chevelle LS6 454 1998 Porsche Twin Turbo AWD 1993 MR2 Turbo [may soon turn into reality ] 1970-1976 Triumph TR6 ^_^_^
Did a Test Drive on a Nissan 350Z today. :smt040 Too bad i don't have 75.000 dollars to get one :Hangman:
rx-7's actually they are both gsl-se's, the white one is an 84 and the black one is an 85. both were pretty much stock, well the white one had a header back exhaust from racing beat and was lowered two inches
beleve it or not, i used to have one. it was my first car. this is almost exactly waht it looked like: i LOVED those wheels! accept when i hit a curb once and had to pay 50 bucks to get the rim fixed. alloys aint as easy to fix as good ol steel. and a porsche just dosnt look right if its not pocsche red! or in my 944's case, half red half orange! lol, it had severe rear end dammage, so the privious owner grafted a rear from annother car. thats the only way a 17 yo could afford a porsche on a mongomery wards salary. now adays, my pride and joy is a butternut yellow 1967 Camaro 327 coupe. lurking under the hood is a 350 with a 410/210 cam and victor jr. intake and a holly 450 cfm carb. but heres my dream engine: a 427 small block. the car itself looks alot like that, only no stripe and torq thrust mags. and ofcoarse different color. and finally... my beater! i love this car so much. has NEVER failed me. and ill drive the thing till those ugly ass hubcaped wheels fall off!!
Hey MasterChief, that is a great looking Camaro. How many HP that 427 V8 small block gives? A friend of mine has a Ford Maverick with it's 302 V8 + Blower, and some extra tuning. Result? 650 HP rayer:
yeah, those mavs can be beasts. being as light as they are. do you know waht he dose in the quarter? the website, http://www.theengineshop.com/ , rates it as "500+" id say a concervative 550, or 700 including the 150hp nitrous kit i wanna slap on it. call it a death wish i supose. itll be quite a while till my camaro is motivated by that motor, its listed at $8995.00. so i guess a 150hp cheater on my 350 will be a more realistic goal for now.
Assembler: :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 (I really should print & wear that :smt033 )
