What One Video Game Do You Think Gamers Should Play Before They Die?

I could mention many games that anyone SHOULD play, but the list would be huge.

I'll skip the mainstream ones (like Daytona) since theres a high possibility that the hypothetical dead guy already played those...

So my list is:

Sonic CD

Starfox 64

VirtualON (arcade or Saturn)

REZ (Argent Burst too)

Shenmue

Portal

Homeworld 2

Conker's Bad Fur Day

Nights

Panzer Dragoon

Blast Corps

Jet Set Radio

PSO (Dreamcast or PC)

Any Metal Slug game.

If I had to pick just one game, I'd have to go with Super Mario Bros. As far as I'm concerned, it's THE prototypical video game.

People already listed a bunch of the classics but I'd add Mega Man 3, Sonic 3, Street Fighter 2, etc.

And if I wanted to push our dying gamer into the grave:
Treasure Master (Complete the game to win a cure to your rare condition!)

 

Probably Robotron 2084 - probably the best arcade game ever in my opinion. Its got pace, colour, sound, speed, its so much more fun than pacman, defender (Good game but I hate the controls!), asteroids etc. 'Twitch' gaming, but can get deeper as you get into it.

Half life 1/2 and panzer dragoon saga!!! :love:

 

i dont care what specific game it is aslong as its in an arcade.

everyone should go to a proper arcade atleast once in their life. :nod:

maybe everyone should play through Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on NES.

The game that i belive that everyone should play before they doe is "Kya Dark Lineage" its such a great game that didn't get much attention.

Hmm....The one game that everyone should play?? thats a hard question but i'd have to say

for the PC: Max Payne since that is one of my favourite games ever felt it was best played on PC and even today i still love having a bash on it now and then,

for Consoles: it would have to be Parasite Eve II on the playstation as its a great game and i've never thought it was as popular as it should have been alhtough at least thats how i saw it.

 

That's because they changed from the great control scheme from the first to a horrible Resident Evil style control for the second.

Space Giraffe as it's like marmite, you either love it or hate it but it's still one of the best games on the Xbox 360.
