whats so bad about liking games for a younger audience

Liking MLP is fine, plenty of people like Spongebob, Adventure Time, etc etc.

... Followed up by everyone laughing their asses off. Ahahahaha. RetroSwim, that's fucking hilarous and sad at the same time. Though I do have to say... Of course it'd be via PM on DeviantArt. (Used to run some Final Fantasy clubs on there, saw weird shit like a girl had a mannequin dressed up as another video game series character - a human one - and used to flip out at people in a similar manner but at least she didn't take the mannequin outside so.... Yeah. There's that too).

But a pony? Holy fucking shit. I just... that's just overboard and wtf mate and despite all that... I'm honestly probably going to keep laughing and shaking my head for an hour straight now.

Retro's post. I had read out the entire DeviantArt PM to my household and that Persona fan-art was essentially the reaction that it got. That's what I was laughing about. (I'm a fast reader so, that's why I responded so quickly).

I may be a bit on the strange side but see my response to the letter RetroSwim posted. I can be somewhat normal. My brain completely shut down at reading the letter. I may be a fan of the show but that takes it too far. It's beyond being "out there" sort of crazy.

I do draw the line at Skylanders though. Not because it's aimed at a young market, but because it is the most horrific piece of marketing I have ever seen in my life.

The figures are so expensive and I'd hate to be a parent of a kid who is in to Skylanders, the constant nagging to buy more figures because such and such at school has x character and they don't.

It's genius marketing, but it's greedy as fuck.

I agree. It took me a while to actually realize that Skylanders was part of the Spyro series (about a year). When I did, my first thought was "SPYRO! NOOO! What have they done to you!"

 

Viracy, Play nice or find your self banned again.

 

I felt that way too. Then I found my self buying into Disney Infinity which isn't anywhere as polished as skylanders is in terms of how the figures work. =(

I actually like the games with in DI and like how the core idea of later pushing out a new Game World Crystal unlocks a whole new game set with it's own mechanics. Yet the thing falls apart by the fact there is only 1 more GWC set to release and that is all for DI1 (mostly due to trying to keep the Wii version compatible). Outside of that it's a shame the other figures have less of an effect. Like I am enjoying pirates that came in the initial set and got 1 extra figure outside of the initial set (came free) but the other figure has zero effect on the core story it self. It does have slightly different control characteristics but no story differences. There are also figures being released that don't belong to any playset. All these figures can do is play in toy box and come with some mini mission that aren't really fleshed out (not anywhere on par with the game world playsets.

I wanna say that this is just a joke, but I know that there are people out there who really are that weird. As the guy himself points out, he's not doing any harm to anyone - which is true, but surely he's doing damage to his own psyche.

 

I fell dumb what the hell is MLP? It is something worst than Twilight.
