Oh yeah, I'm also gonna get an RFID implanted into my hand, which should make for some extremely cool projects like Keyless car entry/start, keyless house entry, no need for password on PC, and some other funky stuff More on this if I have the balls to do it Andy
Some new year's resolutions: to do much more sport, I need to make exercise. During 2005 I have not done anything and of course I notice it. I'll go to a gym and also I'll play basket frequently with some friends. Save more money if possible and try to improve in my work. Read much more, play more games. I'll try to finish my PAL DC collection, buy more Saturn games and of other consoles obtain the titles that interest me more.
I'm not that bad on drinks - my only "crime" when it comes to drinks is beer... I mostly only drink fruit juice and water. Walking to/from work/college could be tricky....work is 8 miles away and college 17....I think I'll give that a miss thanks! My main problem is just food - namely the amount I eat - again its not particularly bad things I eat, But just too much of it Ho Hum...
lol, yea, im the same, ill eat good stuff, but lots of it........no potato chips(way too salty) and shite like that....though i can finish off a pizza in a few hours I think the main thing is, when im sitting down watching tv, i wanna eat, if im not doing something i wanna eat, but when im at the computer occupied with something (like working on my site) i dont have that urge.....either way ill be fat or visually imparied Ryan
walking 2 hours a day is incredibly quickly passed, especially if you know more or less where you are heading. fix a point, like a shop or something, so you'll get a physic objective, and trust me, it will be easy. I used to take long walks last year just because i liked to do so, i didnt wanted to lose weight (even if i had to a bit) and in about 1 or 2 month i realized that i passed from 36 size of pants, to 30, before i even knew it. i couldnt believe you could lose weight that rapidly with taking walks. thats not like its a sport or something. The sad thing is that i had to change for about 300 dollards of clothes because of this. (its true that my walking was a bit excessive (more or less 3h per day in one tray, each day of the week (and this was just for pleasure)(personal record=4 hours, winter )). Now, one year later at im 32, and i think i found my perfect weight, and i maintain it. :020:
In this order: 1.) Quit smoking cannabis (at least for a few months) 2.) Get a job 3.) Get a girlfriend 4.) Fix my car 5.) Figure out what I'm doing for college That covers pretty much everything I plan on doing. XerdoPwerko: Tell us when/where your book will be published. I'll buy it whether it's in Spanish or English. I need Spanish practice, anyway . To anyone wanting to lose weight: I have what is hopefully a decent tip. I'm bone thin due to an extremely high metabolism, and I've never had to do anything to watch weight. I hope this is an okay tip to give, though: Salads are delicious and walking is fun. If you don't like walking, ride a bike. I got a great workout just from riding around my neighborhood on my old Trek, which hasn't been used in years.
wowzers.......I've now heard alot of praise about this new "walking" idea, actually i like walks, not so much in the winter mind you, but it gives me time to think, time to reflect on things, though usually it ends up as strangers watching me as i mumble to myself. Ryan
I use the workout room at my apartment complex (although not lately becasue the have the whole area chained off because of remodeling.) I started with the treadmil, then moved to the ski machine. This combined with (sparse) weights helped me lose 30 lbs. I used to weigh 230, and as of this morning I weigh 202, occasionally dipping as low as 196. I haven't changed my diet at all, stopped smoking, or anything. Yeah, it's incredible how little you actually have to do in order to lose weight. Lately since I can't use the machine I've been doing a little 30 minute combo of situps, pushups, stretches, wanna-be yoga, etc and it's kept me in the 199-202 lb. range. Just waiting for the stupid room to become availible again so I can actually get a little more cut. As far as diet goes, all you have to do is to develop a taste for "healthy" food, salads, broccoli, smoothies, etc. and move stuff like large portions of meat to the side where the veggies used to be. That and show restraint when it comes to desert. Which is hard, becasue dammit I love bread pudding.
Aha! Yeah, i talk to myself alot while walking, or making weird sounds and expresions for my theatre classes. I find ideas and all. Anyway, the funny thing is that i live in a small town, and around 9pm in winter there's nearly no one on the streets, just when im walking, so i know its because of me when people are switching to the opostie side walk. You really do develop a dependance for walking, the first 4-5 times will be hard just to get yourself out of the house, but after that, you'll need your daily fix and will always extend the time spent on the activity. You just need to kick yourself and start somewhere, really.
My new year's resolution is basically to write my essay, which should be turned in January 20th, on my personal hardships in life. The reason I am doing this is because I have to submit it to due to the fact that I am eligible for a full scholarship at Purdue University I believe I have a pretty good chance. Hopefully I do.
To not give in to temptation and tame my bloody wallet so I wont blow off lots of money I do have but SHOULD be saving up for a proper place to live
Borman/Mark30001: The SAT exams have indeed changed, but as the added part is essay based, your score is dependent on the whim of the grader. As such, the majority of colleges still only accept the 800-point verbal and math sections. Study hard, and good luck, for it will be the 4 most mind-numbingly awful hours of your life. And this is coming from someone who willingly took the SATs twice. HEMINGWAY! FITZGERALD! JOYCE! STEINBECK! BY THEIR POWERS COMBINED, WE ARE ENGLISH MAJORS! THE ALL-SINGING, ALL-DANCING CRAP OF THE WORLD! Wait... I think I've mixed my popular entertainment... Either way, chin up! You're not the only one fighting the good (and horrible) fight! Let's see now, my resolutions... 1) Blur had a good one: Write more. In fact, write for publication. And make it, at least once. 2) Really put my Japanese into overdrive, both spoken and written. Be able to carry out reasonably functional conversations with my Japanese friends. Translate a short story by Murakami accurately into English, and translate a short story by Hemingway into accurate Japanese. 3) Leave the United States for sufficient time and in sufficient context as to have a suitably non-touristy experience in a foreign culture. The prime objective is to study abroad in Japan, but basically any exotic destination works at this point. 4) Get back into running, back to 5-minute-mile shape. I did it once, years ago... 5) Sleep more. Go to bed earlier, get up earlier. 6) Pass every goddamn class I take in the circus of the American higher education system. 7) And finish at least 3/4 of my ridiculously large stack of unfinished RPGs.
Entertaining, as usual, Hawanja -- but I thought you already invented the time machine, as per your self-introduction. Mine: 1: Finish the diet I've been on. Really want to get to 82kg (yeah, I know I'm in America, but my wife brought our scale from Japan) to (yeah, this sounds stupid) go on a bulking phase so I can get big ass muscles. 2: Jog more. I was a fat kid (I weighed 252 lbs in high school, and was an offensive tackle) so I've always been a shitty runner. I would like to be able to run 5 miles in a setting... now, 2.5 or 3 and I'm dead. 3: Play the piano more. Just starting playing again a few weeks ago after not touching it for 9 years. Damn, did I forget that shit. 4: Get a 500 million ALL Clear on ESPGaluda II (which is very attainable) so I can justify all that fucking money on the PCB. I would like to also 1CC one other Cave game in 2006 -- probably Progear (1st loop). 5: Convince my wife to put out more.
My resolutions: 1) lose weight. I'm on my way, but still not satisfactory. 2) finally finish a coding project, perhaps my GBA shmup. 3) brush up my math skills. 4) reinstall the Linux server on the student union's network 5) get a girlfriend (contradictory to the above 3, I know) 6) better illustrate the ambiguities of natural language, as seen here: 'big ass mucles' as in giant glutei (the muscles in your butt), or rather meaning 'very big muscles'? ;-)
Hmmm well, it is better to have an inner "gasstation" than an outer, since I love taking walks, last time I took a little "strawl", I walked from Copenhagen to Tårnby (Taarnby = tower city when I translate the name). and I did that with my friend , and there are 17 kilometres from Copenhagen to where my friend lives, and well we did in about 2 hours time . And that wans´t hard at all and the inner "gasstation" is the point of satisfaction instead of a shop And last time I was weighed, I weighed 136 kilos aka. 299 pounds. yes I am a big ass fucker. But I will drop weight. And no that is not a resolution, but a lifestylechange . I began last year with it.
