I would also have to buy the soldering stuff. Or if I went solderless, I'd have to buy the adapter too. I'm just going to buy a 1.5 or lower XBOX first on craigslist or a local store and then I'll sell the current one with the 400 GB loaded with games. Maybe for $50? Idk how much to sell it for. I'm sure selling it full of games is illegal, but there'll be at least one person that'll jump all over it really quick.

Dont talk about selling it "loaded with games" here, we don't support people selling copies here.

Good luck with that. Most boards (including here) won't let you sell pirated shit.

People on CL generally value pirated games at $0 because those who are smart enough to know what a modded system is, are also smart enough to know that the person pirating games didn't pay for them.

Also, if you try to sell pirated stuff on CL you run the risk of a local LE agency deciding to make an example of you should they spot your ad. Slim chance to be sure, but do you really want to be on the receiving end of a criminal arrest? Since you're in the US, selling pirated goods is right out.

The smart thing to do would be to clear the system of all games and just sell it modded with something like XMBC loaded. You could also include any GPL emulators so long as you don't include copyrighted ROMs. Then you're in the clear as far as legalities go.

I'm aware of the law. I just see LOADS of people do that here (in Kansas), I flag their ads, but they put it right back up and then, as you can assume, their stuff gets purchased. And to clear the air, it's all stuff that I've copied from my own personal games, but I guess that would make it pirated if I sold it to someone? Cause then they don't own those games? ANYWHO. Calm down every body, I'll stop talking about backup games.

NEVER sell a system loaded with pirated games. PERIOD! Not only do sites (like this one) not allow it, it is also illegal in the USA. Selling the console with XBMC, emulators, homebrew, and other goodness that's not copyrighted is OK and will probably fetch a bit more. One guy got lucky and sold an Xbox on eBay for $200 with a 250GB HDD, flashed TSOP, and all kinds of tools, homebrew, and such loaded on XBMC. Can't say how much you'd get for the combo you want to sell but make sure it is at least the price of all the parts installed plus maybe a few dollars more for your time to get it all working right.

ok. Well I have no problem loading it with those other things if I can just make enough to cover the new system and the new harddrive.

I said I wouldn't! I made a sentence saying that I wasn't going to talk about it any longer. Others have drug it out.

I'd close this thread any ways you seem like just another person like those off craiglist selling preloaded systems, out for a buck off other's works. Not really a hobbyist nor interested in actually learning hacks and mods hope you don't make enough.

Take the first letter of the OP's username and replace it with a "P" you will then see what his true intentions are...

Now we're getting out of hand. Did nobody read my first post? Did nobody read that I have my own XBOX collection that I backed up? Did nobody see that I haven't shared games on this site, nor asked for games on this site? We can close the thread because my inquiry has been answered. Not because everyone here is wigging out. CLOSE THIS BITCH DOWN.

Seems pretty clear what is desired here is the ability to have a XBox with a 1TB hdd to load up with games, emulators+ROMs and flip for the highest profit margin possible. Buying a modchip eats into the profit margin as does buying soldering gear.

I don't intend on selling the thing after I have the 1-2TB. I NEED one of those (for yet again my massive music collection) emulators and movies and the current games (that I filled up my 400GB with). I dont know who you guys are, but you're not the understanding and helpful people that are usually around. I'm definitely not spending money on soldering stuff because (if you read my OTHER thread) I'm piss poor at soldering and would settle for a solderless chip if I couldn't find a 1.5 or lower to TSOP. Jesus Christ you guys. I clearly don't have to explain myself to you, but when did this site become an angry mob of people? Nobody had to answer the question of how much I could fetch for an XBOX chock full of games.

That's how life works around these kinds of sites. We're not the only place by any means.
Everyone knows what the first mention of emulator implies, but many of us lose interest in helping those who publicly express interest.

Even mentioning ripped games and sales in the same post or even the same thread is a bad thing on this forum. you should have looked around first and read the rules or looked closer if you did read them. Even mentioning having a system loaded with a huge collection of games is a good way to get some of the law abiding fanatics on you.

And that's exactly what happened here...
